THE RATTLERS HOST THE BARONS ON 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND The SLO Rattlers are 9-15 on the season and 3-14 in CCL play.

San Luis Obispo, CA (July 2, 2010) –

SLO Rattlers vs. MLB Academy Barons The SLO Rattlers will be playing the MLB Academy Barons at Sinsheimer Stadium on Saturday, July 3 at 6:05 p.m.; Sunday, July 4 at 1:05 p.m.; and Monday, July 5 at 6:05 p.m. The July 3rd game is fireworks night and tickets are $10 each. The last time the Rattlers faced the Barons was July 2009. The Rattlers won the game 11-3 in Santa Barbara. They started playing each other in 2008. The Rattlers lead the overall series at 9-3. All of the games can be heard on the internet/radio at http://www.slorattlers.com/rattler-radio.

About the MLB Academy Barons The Barons are 14-7 overall. The Barons are hitting .296 and Rucky Mckinley leads the way with a .348 batting average. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.77 and 175 strikeouts. The Barons just swept the Conejo Oaks.

Foul Ball Sponsors The Tire Store is the foul ball sponsor for the Saturday, July 3 game. Nichols Wealth Management is the foul ball sponsor for the Sunday, June, 4 game. That means that fans get to keep the balls they catch in the fan area on July 3 and July 4, courtesy of The Tire Store and Nichols Wealth Management.

Rattlers Batting Stats As a team, the Rattlers are batting .230 with twenty-four doubles, nine triples, two home runs, and 90 RBIs. Brett Wise and Gabe Loweree have the highest batting average at .333. They have only played in three or four games. Scott Phillion is sporting the second highest batting average at .321. David Schultz leads the team with twenty-two hits. Joe Etcheverry has four doubles. Joe Etcheverry has eighteen RBIs and leads the team. Robert Vickers has team high twelve walks. Nigel Morton has a team high two triples. Daniel Howell has two home runs.


Pitching Strikeouts The Rattlers pitching staff has struck out 219 batters this year. On June 2, against the Cal Poly Club Teams, the Rattlers recorded a season high 16 strikeouts. Richie Mirowski leads the team with 26 strikeouts.

Stealing Extra Bases The SLO Rattlers are 24 for 31 in stealing extra bases this year. Nigel Morton has the most stolen bases with six. Six players are perfect when it comes to stealing extra bases.

Rattlers on a Roll The hits continue to come for the Rattlers. Scott Phillion has the longest hitting streak on the team at seven games. Scott Phillion recorded a hit in every game from June 13 to June 23. Davey Schultz and Tommy White have the second longest hitting streaks at five games. Davey Schultz recorded a hit in every game from June 1 to June 5. Tommy White recorded a hit in every game from June 6 to June 13.

It Takes Two‌ The Rattlers have turned eleven double plays this year. On June 13, in the second game of the doubleheader against Team Vegas Baseball Club, the Rattlers turned three double plays.

Searching for the Cycle Joe Etcheverry and Zach Steele have been the only two players this year to come close to hitting for the cycle. They were both a home run shy of the cycle on June 29 at the SLO Blues. ###
