THE RATTLERS LOST IN THE TOP OF THE NINTH INNING, 4-2 Pitcher Jeremy Gonzales went five innings giving up three hits and one run San Luis Obispo, CA (July 22, 2010) – The SLO Rattlers had a 2-1 lead going into the top of the ninth, but the Rattlers were not able to keep the lead and lost the Santa Barbara Foresters 4-2. The Rattlers were trying to take one of the six games from the Foresters this summer, but unable to. The Rattlers did not commit an error in three of the six games against the Foresters. Joe Etcheverry went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a double. Chris Hoo went 3-for-4 with a double. Pitcher Jeremy Gonzales (Northern Illinois University) got the start for the Rattlers. He went five innings, gave up three hits, one earned run, four walks, and strikeout. Joe Etcheverry (Northern Illinois University) singled to right field to start off the bottom of the first inning, but a double play did not help the Rattlers.

Chris Hoo (Francis HS/Cal Ploy SLO) hit the first pitch he saw to right center for a double with one out in the third inning. The Rattlers batters were not able to score him. The Foresters scored one run off of two hits in the top of the fourth inning. They took a 1-0 lead. Bobby Buckner (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) doubled to right field to start off the fourth inning. Joe Etcheverry doubled down the right field line with one out scoring Bobby Buckner. Matt Anderson (Cuesta College) walked with two out. The Rattlers tied the score at 1-1. Chris Hoo singled to start off the bottom of the fifth inning, but a fielder’s choice did not help. Michael Nielebeck (Cuesta College) came in the sixth inning and pitched three innings. He gave up one hit and one walks.


Zach Steele (Cuesta college) singled to right field with one out in the seventh inning. Chris Hoo singled to right field and moved to second on the throw thus putting runners at second and third. Davey Schultz (Cuesta College) singled to left field scoring Zach Steele, but Chris Hoo was out at home. The Rattlers took a 2-1 lead. Bobby Buckner bunt singled to start off the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out he stole second. The Rattlers were not able to score him. DJ Gunderson (Santa Barbara City College) pitched the ninth inning giving up three hits, three earned runs, one walk, and one strikeout. The Foresters scored three runs off of three hits in the top of the ninth inning.
