THE RATTLERS END THE SEASON WITH THE CONEJO OAKS The SLO Rattlers are 19-25 on the season and 9-24 in CCL play.

San Luis Obispo, CA (July 30, 2010) –

SLO Rattlers vs. Conejo Oaks The SLO Rattlers will be playing the Conejo Oaks in Thousand Oaks on Friday, July 30 at 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, July 31 at 5:00 p.m.; and Sunday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. The last time the Rattlers faced the Oaks was the first week in June in SLO. The Conejo Oaks won two of three and the Rattlers shutout the Oaks 11-0 in the first game. They started playing each other in 2007. The Conejo Oaks lead the overall series at 9-8. About the Conejo Oaks The Conejo Oaks are hitting .268 and Ryon Healy leads the way with a .363 batting average. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.08 and 375 strikeouts. The Oaks just lost three straight games to the Santa Barbara Foresters.

Rattlers Batting Stats As a team, the Rattlers are batting .244 with sixty-one doubles, eleven triples, four home runs, and 168 RBIs. Gabriel Loweree has the highest batting average at .321. Joe Etcheverry leads the team with thirty-six hits. Joe Etcheverry has nine doubles. Joe Etcheverry has twenty-five RBIs. Robert Vickers has team high twenty-three walks. Nigel Morton has a team high two triples. Daniel Howell has four home runs.

Pitching Strikeouts The Rattlers pitching staff has struck out 373 batters this year. On June 2, against the Cal Poly Club Teams, the Rattlers recorded a season high 16 strikeouts. On June 20, against the Santa Maria Valley Packers, the Rattlers recorded a season second best 15 strikeouts. Richie Mirowski leads the team with the 48 strikeouts.


Stealing Extra Bases The SLO Rattlers are 40 for 52 in stealing extra bases this year. Nigel Morton has the most stolen bases with eight. Six players are perfect when it comes to stealing extra bases.

Going… Going… GONE! On June 2 the Rattlers got their first home run of the season from Daniel Howell. He leads the team with four home runs. He hit a grand slam on July 13 against the Santa Maria Valley Packers.

Rattlers on a Roll The hits continue to come for the Rattlers. Jimmy Allen has the longest hitting streak at ten games. Jimmy Allen recorded a hit in every game from July 5 to July 21. Davey Schultz, Joe Etcheverry, and Robert Vickers have the second longest hitting streak at eight games. Davey Schultz recorded a hit in every game from June 30 to July 18. Joe Etcheverry recorded a hit in every game from July 3 to July 20. Robert Vickers recorded a hit in every game from July 5 to July 21. Scott Phillion has the third longest hitting streak on the team at seven games. He recorded a hit in every game from June 13 to June 23. Davey Schultz and Tommy White have the fourth longest hitting streak at five games. Davey Schultz recorded a hit in every game from June 1 to June 5. Tommy White recorded a hit in every game from June 3 to June 13.

It Takes Two… The Rattlers have turned twenty-one double plays this year. On June 13, in the second game of the doubleheader against Team Vegas Baseball Club, the Rattlers turned three double plays.

Searching for the Cycle Joe Etcheverry and Zach Steele have been the only two players this year to come close to hitting for the cycle. They were both a home run shy of the cycle on June 29 at the SLO Blues.

Outfield Goes the Distance Center fielder Davey Schultz threw out a Santa Maria Pilots runner at home trying to score from second on July 12. Right fielder Zach Steele gunned down a Team Vegas runner trying score on a fly out on July 18. Left fielder Matt Anderson caught a fly ball in left field foul territory with a Barons runner at third trying to score and he threw out the runner out a home on July 29. ###
