THE SLO RATTLERS AND CONEJO OAKS SERIES CONTINUES TOMORROW Chad Caraccioli pitched four and two thirds innings Thousand Oaks, CA (July 30, 2010) – The Rattlers kept the Conejo Oaks scoreless for seven of the eight innings. The Conejo Oaks scored three runs in the fourth inning. The Rattlers had five hits and the Oaks had six hits. The Rattlers had two innings where they had a runner get to second or third, but they were not able to score. The SLO Rattlers lost 3-0 to the Rattlers. They look to even the series tomorrow. The SLO Rattlers catcher Mitchell Prophet caught an Oaks base runner twice trying to steal second. Pitcher Chad Caraccioli (Santa Barbara City College) got the start for the Rattlers. He went four and two thirds innings, gave up five hits, three earned runs, four walks, and one strike out. He got the loss for the Rattlers and is 2-5 on the season. Jimmy Allen (Rancho Buena Vista HS/Cal Poly SLO) singled to start off the game, but a double play stopped the Rattlers’ threat.

Matt Anderson (Cuesta College) singled to center field with two out in the second inning. Mitchell Prophet (Cuesta College) singled to left field to start off the third inning. Davey Schultz (Cuesta College) sacrificed bunted Mitchell Prophet to second base. Jimmy Allen and Bobby Buckner (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) both reached on a fielder’s choice. Rattlers catcher Mitchell Prophet caught a Conejo Oaks base runner trying to steal second for the second out in the bottom of the third inning. Robert Vickers (College of the Canyons) walked to start off the fourth inning. With one out Daniel Howell (Santa singled to center field putting runners at first and second. Matt Anderson grounded out putting runners at second and third.


The Conejo Oaks scored three runs in the fourth inning off of two hits. Mitchell Prophet caught another Conejo Oaks base runner trying to steal second for the third out. Pitcher Michael Nielebeck (Cuesta College) came in the bottom of the fifth inning with two out. He pitched two and a third innings and gave up one hit. Michael Nielebeck threw out an Oaks base runner trying to steal second for the third out in the bottom of the seventh inning. Pitcher Mason Radeke (Cal Poly SLO) pitched the bottom of the ninth inning striking out one. Robert Vickers singled up the middle with one out in the top of the ninth inning.
