KYLE AND BRETT WISE HELPED THE RATTLERS WIN, 9-1 Justin Crumply went 2-for-5 with a RBI San Luis Obispo, CA (July 6, 2010) – The Rattlers had a couple players that got their first appearance of the season. Marc Damon has pitched in eleven games this summer. At Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Marc Damon pitched and played third base. This was his first time playing third base this summer. He scored twice in the game. Mason Radeke only played in four games at Cal Poly this year due to an injury. He came in the seventh inning and made his first appearance of the summer pitching one shutout inning. The Wise brothers, Kyle (Southwest Baptist) and Brett Wise (Feather River College), had a great game. This is the third time they played in the games and the second time they started together. They went for a combined 4-for-7. Kyle and Brett scored a third of the runs and had over half of the RBIs. Twice Brett batted in his older brother Kyle. All of the Rattlers batters reach base whether it was by a hit, walk, or an error. Six of the batters had at least one hit. Seven of them scored at least one run.

The California Wahoos had the bases loaded with two out in the top of the first inning, but Rattlers starting pitcher Alex Sammons (Saddleback College) got out of the jam. He pitched five innings, giving up three hits, three walks, and struck out two. It was his longest outing of the season. Zach Steele (Cuesta College) walked with one out in the bottom of the first inning and Nigel Morton (Southwest Baptist) walked. The Rattlers were not able to score a run in the inning. Marc Damon started off the second inning. He reached first on an error and advanced to second. Kyle Wise singled to left field. Chris Lauritzen (Santa Barbara City College) singled to left field and moved to second. He scored Marc Damon. Brett Wise had a sacrifice fly scoring his brother Kyle Wise. The Rattlers turned their eleventh double play in the top of the third inning.


Jimmy Allen (Rancho Buena Vista HS/Cal Poly SLO) singled to right field with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. He then stole second with two out. Tommy White (Santa Barbara City College) singled down the left field line to start off the bottom of the sixth inning. Justin Crumply (Southwest Baptist) singled up the middle. Marc Damon reached on fielder’s choice putting runners at first and third. Kyle Wise singled to left field scoring Thomas White. Chris Lauritzen walked to load the bases. The next batter Brett Wise had a bases clearing double to left center scoring Marc Damon, Kyle Wise, and Chris Lauritzen. Brett Wise advanced to third on a passed ball. Jimmy Allen and Zach Steele both walked. The Rattlers were not able to score another run in the inning. Rattlers pitcher Mike Massari (University of Redlands) came in and pitched the sixth inning. He got all three batters out he faced including striking out one. Rattlers catcher Tommy White caught a Wahoos runner trying to steal second for the first out of the seventh inning. The Wahoos scored their only run of the game in the top of the eighth inning off of two hits. Richie Mirowski (Oklahoma Baptist University) pitched the inning, giving up two hits, one earned run, and struck out one. Brett Wise singled up the middle with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. He advanced to second on a wild pitch and move to third on a groundout. Zach Steele walked and then stole second. Nigel Morton walked. He then move to second on an error, Zach Steele advanced to third, and Brett Wise scored. Thomas White walked, Nigel Morton moved to third on a passed ball, and Zach Steele scored. Then Justin Crumply singled scoring Nigel Morton.
