THE SLO RATTLERS SWEEP THE GLORY The Rattlers had some alumni players join them for the night San Luis Obispo, CA (June 18, 2010) – The Rattlers scored six runs in the fourth inning and had seven runners reach on base in the inning. Jimmy Allen had a three run triple in the inning. The Rattlers improve to 7-4 on the season. The California Glory took an early 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the first inning Jimmy Allen got his first at bat and reached on an error. Robert Vickers sacrificed Jimmy Allen to second. Wiley singled scoring Jimmy Allen. Brandon Lee reached first on an error with two out. The score was tied at 1-1.

Bandon Lee threw out the runner trying to steal second base in the second inning. Newman singled to start off the bottom of the second inning. The California Glory got another run in the third inning. Pitcher Jones picked off a California Glory base runner. Jones went four innings, striking out five, and gave up two runs. Nigel Morton singled and Newman singled to start off the bottom of the fourth inning. Newman and Morton advanced to second and third on a balk with one out. Brett Wise walked to load the bases. In Jimmy Allen’s third at bat of the season, he hit a three run triple to left center clearing the bases. Robert Vickers walked putting runners at first and third. Wiley singled to the right side scoring Jimmy Allen. Laubach singled to the right side scoring Robert Vickers. Wiley scored on a balk for the last run of the inning. The Rattlers led 7-2.


Brandon Lee made a great pop up catch behind home plate for the first out of the fifth inning. Pitcher Kirk Fridrich came in the fifth inning, pitched one inning, gave up one walk, struck out one, and did not give up a hit or a run. He got the win for the Rattlers. Smith singled with one out in the fifth inning and stole second base. In the top of the seventh inning Brandon Lee caught a Glory runner trying to steal third base for the third out of the inning. Brandon Lee singled to left field to start the bottom of the seventh inning. Nigel Morton reached on a fielder’s choice. Newman walked with two outs. In the top of the eighth inning, the Glory got one more run making it 7-3 Rattlers. Brett Wise singled with on one out in the eighth inning. Robert Vickers walked with one out. Robert Vickers and Brett Wise moved to second and third on a wild pitch. DJ Gunderson came in and pitched the ninth inning, gave up one walk, struck out two, and did not give up a hit or a run.
