THE SLO RATTLERS CONTINUE THE SERIES SUNDAY WITH TEAM VEGAS Bobby Buckner went 2-for-4 against Team Vegas Baseball Club

Nevada (June 12, 2010) – The SLO Rattlers lost the first game of the three games series against Team Vegas Baseball Club, 6-3, Saturday night. The Rattlers are 4-3 and play a double header tomorrow against Team Vegas. The Rattlers scored three runs on six hits. One of the hits came from Thomas White who hit his first triple of the season. Jeremy Gonzales started for the SLO Rattlers pitching three and a third innings, giving up four runs and striking out two.

David Schultz went 1-for-4 with 2 runs and a stolen base

David Schultz started off the top of the first inning by reaching first bases on an error. He then stole second base. Bobby Buckner then singled putting runners at first and third. David Schultz scored and Bobby Buckner advanced to second on a passed ball. Team Vegas Baseball Club got two runs in the bottom of the first inning. In the top of the second inning Daniel Howell singled up the middle with one out and Matt Anderson walked, but that was all the Rattlers were able to threaten in the second inning. Brandon Lee threw out the runner trying to steal second for the first out of the second inning. Bobby Buckner made a great play for the second out of the inning. David Schultz singled to start the third inning. With one out Thomas White tripled down the right field line scoring David Schultz. It is Thomas White’s fist triple of the season. He scored on a wild pitch. Scott Phillion was hit by a pitch and the stole second. Team Vegas Baseball Club scored two more runs in the bottom of the third inning. With two outs in the top of the fourth inning Robert Vickers singled. In the bottom of the fourth inning Brandon Lee threw out the second runner of the game trying to steal second.


Bobby Buckner singled to start the top of the fifth inning and stole second with two outs. That was the last time the Rattlers were able to get a base runner. Vegas Baseball Club scored their last two runs of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. In the eighth inning pitcher Michael Nielebeck came in and pitched two innings giving up no runs. The Rattlers turned their second double play of the season in the bottom of the eighth inning. Team Vegas Baseball Club took game one, 6-3. The Rattlers and Vegas continue the series with a doubleheader tomorrow. ###
