THE SLO RATTLERS HOST THE SLO BLUES The SLO Rattlers are 8-7 on the season and 2-6 in CCL play.

San Luis Obispo, CA (June 22, 2010) –

SLO Rattlers vs. SLO Blues The last time the Rattlers faced the Blues was August 2009. The Blues were the home team. The Blues won the first game 7-6 and the Rattlers won the second game 8-5. They started playing each other in 2008. The series is tied at 5-5. All of the games can be heard on the internet/radio at http://www.slorattlers.com/rattler-radio.

About the SLO Blues The Blues are 6-7 overall. The Blues are hitting .265 and A.J Robinson leads the way with a .368 batting average. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 5.22 and 141 strikeouts. One of their pitchers J.D. Salles is from Fresno State; redshirted last year. His father, John Salles, played for Fresno State from 1986-88 and played in the Chicago Cubs organization.

The Rattlers play their rivals the Blues at home for three games

Foul Ball Sponsor San Luis Ambulance is the foul ball sponsor for the Tuesday, June, 22 game. Founders Community Bank is the foul ball sponsor for the Wednesday, June, 23 game. Gray & Troy Insurance is the foul ball sponsor for the Thursday, June, 24 game. That means that fans get to keep the balls they catch in the fan area, courtesy of San Luis Ambulance, Founders Community Bank, and Gray & Troy Insurance.

Rattlers Bats Are Heating Up As a team, the Rattlers are batting .269 with twenty doubles, seven triples, two home runs, and 70 RBIs. Kyle Wise is sporting the highest batting average at .474. David Schultz and Scott Phillion lead the team with thirteen hits. Joe Etheverry, Daniel Howell, and Scott Phillion have three doubles. Joe Etcheverry has ten RBIs and leads the team. Robert Vickers has a team high seven walks. Nigel Morton has a team high two triples. Daniel Howell has two home runs.

Pitching Strikeouts The Rattlers pitching staff has struck out 149 batters this year. On June 2 against the Cal Poly Club Teams, the Rattlers recorded a season high 16 strikeouts. Marc Damon and Jeremy Gonzales lead the team with 16 strikeouts each.


Stealing Extra Bases The SLO Rattlers are 18 for 21 in stealing extra bases this year. Nigel Morton has the most stolen bases with five. Seven players are perfect when it comes to stealing extra bases.

Going… Going… GONE! On June 2 the Rattlers got their first home run of the season from Daniel Howell. He leads the team with two home runs.

Rattlers on a Roll The hits continue to come for the Rattlers. David Schultz, Thomas White and Scott Phillion have the longest hitting streaks on the team at five games. David Schultz recorded a hit in every game from June 1 to June 5. Thomas White recorded a hit in every game from June 6 to June 13. Scott Phillion recorded a hit in every game from June 13 to June 21.

It Takes Two… The Rattlers have turned eight double plays this year. On June 13 in the second game of the doubleheader against Team Vegas Baseball Club the Rattlers turned three double plays. ###
