THE RATTLERS WERE HANDED THEIR WORST LOSS OF THE SEASON Nigel Morton went 1-for-3 with a RBI and a walk San Luis Obispo, CA (June 22, 2010) – Relief pitcher Kirk Fridrich (Kansas Wesleyan University) went two innings, striking out two, gave up one walk, and did not give up a hit. That was the only bright spot for the Rattlers. The Rattlers are 8-8 overall and 2-7 in league play. The Rattlers continue the series tomorrow Wednesday, June 23 at 6:05 p.m. In the bottom of the first inning with one out Davey Schultz (Cuesta College) singled down the right field line with one out and moved to second on a groundout. The Blues got two runs in the top of the second inning. Daniel Howell (Santa Barbara City College) walked to start the second inning, but a double play did not help them. The SLO Blues scored three runs in the top of the third inning.

Kyle Wise (Southwest Baptist) walked to start off the third inning. Nigel Morton (Southwest Baptist) doubled down the left field line with one out scoring Kyle Wise. Nigel Morton moved to third. The Blues scored another run in the top of the fourth. Starting pitcher Chad Caraccioli (Santa Barbara City College) went four innings, giving up seven hits, six runs four earned, and struck out two. He is now 2-2 on the season. Bobby Buckner (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) reached first on an error with two out and Joe Etcheveery (Northern Illinois University) walked in the sixth inning. In the bottom of the seventh inning Tommy White (Santa Barbara City College) walked. Three more runs were scored by the Blues in the top of the eighth inning.
Nigel Morton walked to start off the bottom of the eighth inning and a one out groundout moved him to second. Then Joe Etcheverry walked. Another run was scored by the Blues in the top of ninth inning.
