THE RATTLERS HAD A TOUGH LOSS TO THE LEGENDS Justin Crumply went 1-for-2 with a RBI and a walk San Luis Obispo, CA (June 21, 2010) – The Rattlers starting pitcher was Mike Massari. He went four innings, giving up four hits, striking out one, and giving up two runs; only one was an earned run. He got the loss for the rattlers. The Rattlers are 8-7 on the season. The Menlo Park Legends got the first run of the game in the top of the second inning. In the bottom of the second inning Joe Scott Phillion went 2-for-3 with a walk Etcheverry singled up the middle. Scott Phillion singled in the middle, but a double play moved Joe Etcheverry to third with two out. Justin Crumply singled to right field scoring Joe Etcheverry and tying the game at 1-1. Zach Steele reached first on an error with no one out in the bottom of the third inning, but the Rattlers were not able to score. The Legends scored their other run in the top of the fourth inning. They led 2-1. Scott Phillion singled with two out in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kyle Wise was hit by a pitch, putting runners at first and second. Catcher Tommy White got the first out in the fifth inning by catching the runner trying to steal second base. Tommy White walked with one out in the sixth inning. Then Scott Phillion walked with two out. In the bottom of the seventh inning Justin Crumply walked. Pinch runner Davey Schultz came in and ran for him. Davey Schultz stole second with two out. Jimmy Allen was hit by pitch.


The Rattlers turned two double plays. Relief pitchers David Murillo, Stefan Olson, and DJ Gunderson kept the Legends from scoring.
