THE RATTLERS VS BLUES SERIES ENDS TOMORROW Chris Lauritzen went 1-for-2 with a walk San Luis Obispo, CA (June 30, 2010) – Kirk Fridrich (Kansas Wesleyan University) came in the bottom of the fifth inning with one out and pitched three and two thirds innings. He pitched hitless ball and struck out six batters. The only batter that reached first was off an error. The SLO Rattlers lost to the SLO Blues 5-1. The series is tied at 1-1. Davey Schultz (Cuesta College) singled to right field to start off the game. Bobby Buckner (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) then singled up the middle. A double play did not help the Rattlers.

The Blues second batter of the game lined out to left field and the runner at first was caught off the base. The Blues got one run off of a home run. Pitcher Jeremy Gonzales started for the Rattlers. He went four and a third innings, gave up five runs, four earned runs, two walks, and one strikeout. He is 1-2 on the season. Chris Hoo (Francis HS/Cal Poly SLO) caught a Blues runner trying to steal second for the first out of the bottom of the third inning. Bobby Buckner walked and Zach Steele (Cuesta College) reached first in the fourth inning, but caught stealing ended the chance for the Rattlers to score in the inning. Another run was scored by the Blues in the fourth inning off of three hits. Chris Laurtizen (Santa Barbara City College) singled to right center with two out. Then Matt Anderson (Cuesta College) reached first on an error, but the Rattlers were not able to score


The Blues scored three runs off of one hit and two errors in the bottom of the fifth inning. That made the score 5-0 Blues. In the top of the seventh inning Daniel Howell (Santa Barbara City College) was hit by a pitch with one out. Then Chris Lauritzen and Robert Vickers (College of the Canyons) walked to load the bases. Matt Anderson had a sacrifice fly scoring Daniel Howell. Chris Hoo doubled down the left field line to start off the eighth inning. He then moved to third on a ground out. The Rattlers batters were not able to score him. He went 1-for-3 in the game.
