NIGEL MORTON HIT THE RATTLERS FIRST TRIPLE OF THE SEASON The Rattlers had ten hits in the game. San Luis Obispo, CA (June 6, 2010) – Nigel Morton got the first triple of the season for the Rattlers. He went two-for-four with two runs scored. Nigel Morton had half of the runs scored. The SLO Rattlers lost 7-4 to the Conejo Oaks. In the bottom of the first inning with two out Bobby Buckner walked and then on the next pitch stole second. Then Joe Etcheverry doubled down the left field line to score Bobby Buckner for the first run of the game. Nigel Morton tripled to left center with one out. Next batter up Gabe Loweree grounded out to score Nigel Morton. That was Gabe Loweree’s first RBI of the season. Gabe Loweree had half of the RBIs in the game. Kyle Wise also had a single in the inning

Starting pitcher Michael Nealebeck went two and a third innings. In the first two innings the Cojeno Oaks threatened with two runners on, but Michael Nealebeck was able to get out of the innings without giving up a run. He had four hits, two earned runs, two balls, and two strikeouts. The Conejo Oaks got two runs in the top of the third inning. With the bases loaded, third baseman Chris Larutizen made a great defensive play to catch and throw out to the batter at first base to end the top of the third inning. Centerfielder David Schultz made a great diving catch for the first out of the fourth inning. The Conejo Oaks scored three runs in the inning. Pitcher Richie Mirowski came in top of the fifth inning and got all three batters he faced out in the inning. Gabe Loweree had an infield single to start the inning off. Kyle Wise singled to left field and then David Schultz sacrifice bunted to move the runners over. The Rattlers were not able to score a run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Shortstop Nigel Morton made a quick great play for the first out in the sixth inning. The Conejo Oaks scored two more runs in the top of the seventh inning.


In the bottom of the seventh inning Gabe Loweree walked and Kyle Wise singled with one out, but the Rattlers were not able to score. Douglas Gunderson came in the eighth inning and got three quick outs. In the ninth inning he got three of the four batters he faced out. He did not give up a run in either inning. Bobby Buckner reached on an error and then Joe Ethcheverry singled with no one out, but then a double play kept the Rattlers from threatening any more. In the bottom of the ninth inning Nigel Morton singled and Gabe Loweree singled with no one out scoring Nigel Morton. David Schultz reached on a fielder’s choice with one out. Matt Anderson reached first on an error. Bobby Buckner singled scoring David Schultz.
