Among the psychedelic mushrooms, Psilocybe Galindoi is one of those which were used in rituals to connect with the spiritual plane and gain the wisdom of the gods. It is one of several magic mushrooms varieties known by Maztecs as teonanacatl, which roughly translates to “flesh of the gods. This mushroom also became known as P. galindoi, in honor of Carlos Galindo Arias who introduced the species to the modern world.
Psilocybe Galindoi Identification When going out to hunt for P. galindoi, it’s important to check the caps. The caps of P. galindoi are 2cm in diameter, bell-shaped, with a slight protrusion at the center. The color of P. galindoi caps are also highly dependent on the amount of moisture contained inside the mushroom. When moist, it’s brown or yellowish brown but pales to straw when dried. The gills under the caps are brown to dark purple brown with whitish edges. Attached to the bottom of the cap is the stem, scientifically known as the stipe.
This stem grows from 5cm to 6.5cm long and is 1mm to 2mm thick. It’s hollow with a reddish brown hue in the middle, becoming darker towards the base with rhizomorphic strands. This mushroom produces dark, purple gray spores. It shares the same taste and odor with most magic mushrooms which can only be described as starchy with a strong resemblance to flour. The psychoactive substances – psilocybin and psilocin – contained in this magic mushroom oxidize. When handled or injured, dark blue bruises appear on the mushroom.
Psilocybe Galindoi Location When looking for a magic mushroom used in rituals, it’s logical to start your search for P. galindoi where these rituals are practiced – Mexico! The color of P. galindoi caps are also highly dependent on the amount of moisture contained inside the mushroom. When moist, it’s brown or yellowish brown but pales to straw when dried.
Psilocybe Galindoi is also one of the magic mushroom species capable of growing sclerotia. The only discernible difference between the magic mushrooms and the sclerotia is that the latter grows underground.
Psilocybe Galindoi Sclerotia
Both contain the hallucinogenic compounds psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin. Both mushroom and sclerotia are effective in inducing hallucinations.
Psilocybe Galindoi Effects Both mushrooms and truffles from P. galindoi produce the same effects. The nature of the experience you will have will depend on the dosage, your state of mind, and the environment you’re in. A normal trip requires 5 to 9 grams of fresh P. galindoi and a strong trip would require 10 to 15 grams. The most efficient way to ingest these truffles is to eat them on an empty stomach. Nausea is a common initial side effect but it subsides in a few minutes. After ten to sixty minutes, the first effects will start to show. What you perceive through your eyes and your ears will become more intense. Your perception of reality will rapidly change.
