In 1950 Bettie Page cut her iconic bangs after Jerry Tibbs, a police officer with a passion for taking pictures who also assisted Bettie with her first pinup portfolio, suggested she hide her high forehead with bangs. So she went home and cut them herself.

Louis Réard was a French automobile engineer and clothes designer who designed the bikini in 1946. When Réard sought a model to wear his design at its debut presentation, none of the usual models would wear the suit, so he hired 19year- old nude dancer Micheline Bernardini from the Casino de Paris to model it.
