The AIESEC Member Journey
Once you got accepted as our member, you will be enrolled in a series of induction sessions, from conferences to skills training, so you will be learning the purpose and your role in the organisation, and how you can make an impact in the society.
INDUCTION HERE WE GO
SELECTION Our selection process are designed not only to recruit the most bright, proactive and entrepreneurial youth, but more importantly it enables candidates to reflect on their strength, values and passion, and become more self-aware.
During your team experience, you will receive a series of practical trainings sessions (e.g. sales pitching, communication etc.) by your local committee for your professional development to empower you to improve your performance in the team. Additionally in the national level, AIESEC UK also runs summits and conferences to train public speaking and training skills and builds a network of trainers to empower others.
TRAINING
TEAM EXPERIENCE After induction, you will start your team experience where you will be placed in a challenging environment to work with others to reach an end goal. From this team experience, you will learn and develop leadership skills (e.g. problem solving, communication skills), and qualities (e.g. solution-oriented) by enabling exchange experiences of others.
Every year, AIESEC UK run 3 national conferences that bring together 900+ young people across 21 universities to connect, develop and learn. We engage with 20+ organisation partners to deliver more than 18 workshops that not only provide professional training, but also provide the platform for youth to address and discuss issues that matter to youth.
CONFERENCES
EXCHANGE EXPERIENCE As a members, you are entitled a £75 discount to go onto exchange experiences with AIESEC under the Global Member programme.
“
I remembered I join my exchange programme in India. Everyday I watch how people just throw things away, and it was so painful for me to watch it. And once we started talking to people and explain the bigger picture of those actions, they started to do less of the unsustainable action. International exchange allows young people to understand not only what they are passionate about, but also understand how they can impact the world better, then together we can make a better difference in the world

During your individual meeting with your mentor, you will be coached to set personal development goals and reflect on your personal learning journey from your team experience and training, and thus understand what hard and soft skills you have gained while developing practical leadership qualities.
INDIVIDUAL MEETING
LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE In AIESEC, we offers thousands of leadership experiences ranging from local to international level. Each of these position changes every year to enable more young people to have the opportunities to successively develop their leadership skills by leading a team. Every year, more than 200 young people are inspired to run for leadership position in our local chapters in AIESEC UK.
