Do you know… • The UBS Parade Spectacular is 21 years old this year! The first parade took place in 1993.
Xpogo Stunt Team, the most talented and experienced extreme pogo performance team in the world.
• If we were to stand the 16 giant balloons on top of each other they would be as long as 4 football fields or as tall as 3 Trump Tower skyscrapers!
Abby Cadabby and Shrek
• It will take 24 tons of sand to keep the balloons from flying away – that’s equivalent in weight to 12 elephants! • It takes an average of 3,000 steps to walk the parade route. • 1,500 volunteers will walk the parade route this year, that’s 1,500 miles all together in just one hour!
ake It will t c feet i b u c 0 67,14 m to of heliu he fill up t on ballo helium ters. c a r a h c
Master of Ceremonies Alan Kalter from the Late Show with David Letterman
• 1,000 barricades are used along the parade route. If you lined them up edge to edge they would extend from Stamford Downtown to Long Island Sound! • Last year, an estimated crowd of 200,000 attended the Parade Spectacular. • Yankee Magazine named the Parade as a “Well Worth the Drive” Destination in 2013. • The American Bus Association voted the Parade among the Top 100 Events in the Country for 2010, and Moffly Publications awarded it the “Most Uplifting Celebration” for 2006.
