Maryland STEM Festival

Announcing the 7th Anniversary

The theme of the 7th annual state-wide celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is Health and Wellness. The Festival runs through November 14th and features over two hundred virtual and in-person events that recognize the invaluable, lifesaving work being done in healthcare fields and the healthcare heroes that got us through COVID! A complete list of events is available on MarylandSTEMFestival.org. The Festival is excited to see the return of live, in person events that will be held at libraries, schools, parks, museums, and other locations. The in-person events will range from building competitions to nature walks to technology classes. Among the organizations expected to participate in the Festival are Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Stanley Black and Decker, Google, Comcast, US Naval Academy, NASA, National Cancer Institute, and Emergent BioSolutions.

Themes and topics include:

• Health Theme Comedy Shows by DC Science Comedy • Steve Spangler, YouTube Science star • Maynard Okereke, The Hip Hop Md, • Bilingual Hispanic STEM Night • How vaccines are developed/manufactured • Live Performance by Marsha and the Positrons, popular children musical performer • Forest Fires and Fire Prevention • Mental Health Research Events are open to the public, free of charge, familyoriented, and FUN! In continued dedication of its mission, the Festival will be donating STEM kits and books to schools with significant underrepresented populations such as girls, minorities, and those with disabilities. At least one school in every Maryland jurisdiction will receive these donations. Maryland STEM Festival, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) corporation funded by generous support from companies, organizations, and individuals across Maryland.
