Hospitality

2013

Boodles have been entertaining guests for many years at Chester Racecourse and it all gets better and better each time, if that is possible! We particularly like the seabass with the fine white Burgundy – the service is always immaculate

Today’s Bangor experience is tremendous - real fun and excellent racing. The real charm is its staff, the warm welcome given to all guests and the on-course catering is first class. It is a place you want to come to again and again

Nicholas Wainwright Chairman, Boodles

Andrew H. Clowes Chairman of the Trustees, Anne Duchess of Westminster’s Charity

Enjoying a box at Chester Races is very special: The food, the atmosphere, the attention to detail are all fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and the Chester team do everything they can to always make it a memorable day.

The Coutts International Polo is a great event in the North West and one that continues to grow from strength to strength. The international nature of the tournament and the unique atmosphere is always a big hit with our clients

Chester race company Welcome to the 2013 Chester Race Company hospitality brochure. The Race Company is constantly evolving and looking at what else we can do to further enhance our customers experience. We are constantly striving to provide service excellence in everything we do. Restaurant 1539 has been extremely successful in the past 12 months picking up three awards throughout the year; Gold Award for Best Large Restaurant and Silver Award for Best use of Local Produce at the 2012 Chester Food and Drink awards, and also gained its first AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence. Horseradish, our outdoor catering division, has gone from strength-to-strength and now provides catering services to Chester Town Hall, Cholmondeley Pageant of Power and the International Eisteddfod. 2012 saw the launch of our first city centre venture, The Weighing Room. The sense that a good time is being had by all is immediately felt when you walk into the bar, especially when its hosting a party for Polo and Chester Rocks. In December there was a great Après Ski party and the bar celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in style with Irish bands and baby Guinness. The outdoor area is a great place to enjoy either the winter or summer sun with a drink and friends, the small plate menu is full of punchy dishes to savor and share anytime of the day. Chester Polo team had a successful year winning The Gerald Balding Cup and the Coutts International. The club gained a Royal seal of approval, hosting HRH The Duke of Cambridge at a charity polo match for the second year running last May. The Club also hosted one of only three International Test Series hosted by Audi in the UK, which saw England take on South America – England were the victors, just! Chester Rocks takes place on the 15th and 16th June this year. Saturday will be headlined by international boy band The Wanted with special guests Union J and The Vamps and on Sunday, pop sensation and mentor of BBC One’s, The Voice - Jessie J takes centre stage with special guests Lawson and Amelia Lily. The White Horse our new gastro pub is situated in Chester Racecourse by the Pre-Parade Ring. It opens Easter weekend, boasting panoramic views of The Paddock, roaring log fires, a wood burning grill, stone pizza oven and superb children’s playground. The White Horse is the perfect place for families to dine all year round and for racegoers to enjoy a raceday. We continuously look at our raceday hospitality offerings - you will notice some changes at both racecourses for the 2013 season, which have been initiated as a result of customer feedback. The new Maiden Stakes package for the Festival Chalets at Chester provides a competitive price point for those looking for private hospitality. At Bangor, the Paddock Restaurant offering has also been revamped to offer lots of added extras if required!

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our fixtures during the 2013 season.

Private Hospitality

The Paddock Enclosure is the atmospheric heart of the Racecourse and is where all of our private facilities are located. It also includes bars, eateries, Pre-Parade, Parade Ring and elevated viewing of the racetrack, particularly welcome in light of Bangor-On-Dee’s unique position as the only Racecourse in the country not to have a grandstand.

Chalets The Chalets are the perfect answer for those wishing to take a party of between 20 to 160 people to the races and offer a superb view of the Racecourse. Racegoers in the Chalets dine within the comfort of their own private facility and then watch the racing from their own private vantage point provided by the surrounding decking.

Dee Suite The Dee Suite is a permanent facility in the centre of the Paddock enclosure. A suite of rooms accommodating up to 75 guests. This facility is particularly suited to avid racegoers, as lunch is served in advance of racing. Once racing has started, all of the elements of the Paddock such as the Parade Ring and the elevated viewing are easily accessible.

Marquees In many ways the Marquee option is very similar to that of the Chalets. Situated in the Paddock, opposite the Parade Ring and only a short distance from the racetrack, the main difference lies in the capacity, which for the Marquees is from 50 to 500 persons.
