Cheval Three Quays raises £15,000 for service charities -

Building to turn red on 11 November to acknowledge The Tower’s WW1 installation -

(6 November 2014) Award winning Cheval Three Quays at the Tower of London, has raised £15,000 in support of ‘The Tower of London Remembers’, a major installation at The Tower of London by ceramic artist Paul Cummins to mark the 100 year anniversary of the First World War. What’s more, the Cheval Three Quays building will be illuminated red on Tuesday 11 November as a mark of respect to the armed forces and recognition of the Tower’s incredible work. Between 5 August and 11 November 2014, guests booking apartment 7P, a Tower View one bedroom apartment at Cheval Three Quays, have had the total profit of their stay donated to the six service charities associated with ‘The Tower of London Remembers’; Confederation of Service Charities (COBSEO), Combat Stress, Coming Home, Help for Heroes, Royal British Legion and SSAFA (formerly the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association). On being involved in this iconic event Dean Madge, General Manager of Cheval Three Quays commented, ‘We are thrilled to have raised £15,000 in support of this worthwhile project. Being located right next to the Tower of London, we have been lucky enough to watch the transformation of the moat on a daily basis and it has been spectacular. We are honoured and proud to be part of this commemorative event.” Entitled ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’, the installation has continued to grow throughout the autumn. A grand total of 50,000 visitors are expected at the Tower on 11 November, when the last poppy will be symbolically planted. The Tower’s dry moat will then be filled with 888,246 ceramic poppies, each representing a British or Colonial military fatality during the war.

The Tower of London has provided the opportunity to own a part of this historic installation by putting each of the hand-made ceramic poppies up for public sale. Committed to fundraising for the project, Cheval Three Quays has purchased four poppies; three to be displayed in the lobby to represent each of the three quays on which the property is located and one to be placed permanently in apartment 7P. To further assist with the project, and in order to give something back to the local community, Cheval Residences volunteered members of its Cheval Three Quays team to assist with the planting of 6,500 ceramic poppies at the Tower of London during September. Team members from sales, marketing, concierge, housekeeping and management spent the afternoon assembling and planting the poppies in the moat of the tower. Cheval Residences has also been raising further awareness of the campaign by leaving guest cards explaining the Tower Remembers project with details of how to purchase the poppies in every room during the period. Cheval Residences has an ongoing commitment to corporate responsibility and is dedicated to creating a more positive impact within its local communities and society as a whole.
