Once I was told that architects are the late humanists. That is what I mostly love of architecture: its strong connections to almost all the fields of human knowledge, its ability to reflect the zeitgeist from a cultural and a scientific point of view. My desire is to work in a firm that deals with these two aspects, the conceptual and the technologic one. During university, I have been in Erasmus at the Institut La Cambre in Brussels, working in summer at the Bureau Synergy International. After my Master’s degree at the Facoltà di Architettura de La Sapienza in 2010, I worked in the firm Atenastudio in Rome, improving
my design and graphic abilities. Later my experience in the engineering firm Studio Violi let me enhance my technique know-how and my knowledge of the construction site. I am particularly interested in sustainable architecture. During a period of three months in London I worked as a teacher of Sustainable design in a private Academy. Recently I attended a Postgraduate Master at the INArch (Istituto Nazionale di Architettura) in Rome learning the principles of bioclimatic architecture and some software to control energetic strategies and winning the INArch M.A.D. award. cover_Forum, Barcelona, 2010_post produced photo

Community Ecology and Flexibility are the key words of this renovation project. Precast materials will allow future transformations of the building in case of different needs. In the apartments, bath-rooms and kitchens are located along a stripe, keeping the rest of dwellings totally free thanks to foldable walls. Customization and flexibility and options also guide the design of the building envelope, consisting of opaque and glazed panels easily removable and sliding photovoltaic shadings. The building lives through the collaboration of active and passive energy systems perfectly integrated.

In correspondence of the cuts made in the structural frame, the inclusion of a bioclimatic greenhouse constitutes the core of the passive system. The replacement air is supplied by a system of earth pipes, which works in conjunction with geothermal heat pump and radiant ceiling panels.

STUDIO VIOLI private commission june_december 2012
preliminary, definitive project
The project concerns the demolition of a dismissed factory and the reconstruction of a housing complex in a residential area in the town of Cassino. The building hosts twelve apartments, four on each floor, from 55 to 90 sqm. An extrusion of 50 cm makes the apartments recognizable from outdoor.
Each living room has a big terrace whose privacy is strictly protected; the cantilever provides to cast shadows during summer. At the first floor there is a garage for each apartment, while the roof terrace allows the presence of solar and photovoltaic panels with 12 kWp.

The aim of the competition was to design a repeatable rural galllery in a small town of Umbria which could allow a new form of tourism in the country. The gallery needs to be flexible and cheap, qualities obtained conceiving a module composed by prebuilt wood panels - with the X-lam technology -
10
usable as bed and breakfast, gallery, restaurant, etc. The module can be independent or combined with others. Its form is extremely simple: a cube of 5,20x5,20 m with inclined roof. The square plan seemed the most flexible one; the inclined roof the most suitable to maximise the surface for solar and photovoltaic panels and to integrate with the local context.
The windows placed on both sides ease the natural ventilation. The continuation of the roof towards south allows protection from sun in summer. Each employed material requires a low amount of embodied energy and embodied carbon during its entire LCA. The dry assembly will allow to dismantle and reuse the panels when necessary.

STUDIO VIOLI international competition march 2012
preliminary project
The main idea of the project is to create with the footbridge a landmark in the flat landscape near the town of Cittadella. The footbridge rotating its axis indicates physically the fortified walls of the ancient city. The form is conceived from the structural scheme of the three span
arch bridge, modified to obtain a more sinuous design suggested by the ribbon of a gymnast shaked. The arch is a tubular steel structure with a constant section; a system of tie rods and struts bears the steel beams and the decking in micro lamellar wood.

THREE-FAMILY HOUSE Rome_Italy
PROJECT TEAM http://europaconcorsi.com/projects/221798-Villa-privata-Casalotti-Roma-
This three-family house will be soon realized in the outskirts of Rome. The project has been reformulated many times in order to meet adequately the requirements both of the client both of regulations. The current law system in Rome is very restrictive, but the project was able to mediate between these two aspects, creating a building of high architectural quality. The project consists of three houses of three floors: the basement with the garage, the ground floor with the living room, the first floor with the bedrooms and terrace. Formally the houses are characterised by the strong sign of the roof, modelling them as a unique object but at the same time separating them. Square windows doubled by a sliding shading panel mark the faรงades, making them interactive and playful.

ATENASTUDIO international competition july 2011
preliminary project
A bridge is a tool to cross an obstacle in the most suitable way. It basically consists of three elements: structure, deck, parapet. To synthesize these traits into a single entity, the project proposes a single element. A dense set of frames spread over the entire length of the bridge, causing various
perceptions based on the location of the observation point. From afar, the bridge is a unique element, a minimal sign in the landscape. Instead closely, or better riding it, the sequence of frames is permeable to light and sight, shows the structure and generates ever new glimpses of the landscape at every step.

ATENASTUDIO international competition july 2011
master plan, preliminary project
Urban fabrics of the town of Avigliana are characterized by strong morphological differences. Therefore the designing approach is functional: social activities should be the unifying element of the city. The Riva Area is the core of the project as a natural element which has been preserved: to reinforce its uniformity the project just subtracts green fields. The subtracted greenery is not wasted,
but it is added to the city. This creates a symbiotic relationship: the park hosts urban society, the city is overrun by greenery. The empty fields in the Area Riva host heterogeneous functions in order to meet the diverse needs of urban society. In the same way in town green spaces have different complementary functions; cycle and footpath connect them to create a net.

preliminary project
The basic concepts of this project are continuity, flexibility, accessibility. The continuity has been pursued mainly in the search of a soft relationship with the existing city. The slabs continuing the existing urban tissue push social activities towards the square. Each slab has a role determined by its buildings: parvis for the one of the Church of San Martino, entrance and parking for the one of
the archaeological site, meeting for the one with restaurants, entry and distribution for the one of the hotel. These roles are not imposed through visual or physical barriers, but just suggested and anyway are flexible. Finally, the slabs are articulated in order to be fully accessible to disabled people. The result is a public space meeting the diverse needs of the community.

DENSIFICATION OF PdZ TORREVECCHIA Rome_Italy
GRADUATION THESIS architectural and urban design http://www.archilovers.com/p88445/Riqualificazione-del-Piano-di-Zona-Torrevecchia
The project investigates Torrevecchia, a complex of public housing in Rome. Despite the incompleteness of the intervention, the facilities are oversized compared to urban standards. Taking advantage of the enormous SLOAP (Space Left Over After Planning) it is therefore possible to densify the area in compliance with the ordered urban standards. This could allow to resolve the problem of accessibility to house with a great economy. Furthermore, adding new categories of residents and facilities could be a way to break the isolation of the existing ghetto. The analysis of the area has not only addressed to the PDZ, but to the entire urban sector where it belongs to achieve a greater integration with the surroundings.

PRIMO PIANO ARCHITECTURE Cassino_Italy
PRIMO PIANO is translatable as close-up and at the same time as first floor. The architecture does not have a specific tradition referring to the close-up; this opened the range of symbolic references to more possibilities: for example, vertically to the facade of a building, or horizontally to a plan. In particular, the proposed study investigates the square and the city where the exposition held.
24
cultural association PAK exposition june-september 2011
In my opinion, an important component of architecture consists of its users. Hence the idea to represent the square exposing photos of passersby joined with a brief interview that revealed their use of that public space. The city was analysed from its plan; photos of facades (close) scattered throughout the city were linked to the city map, showing a new perspective.
