The Season 4 Winners of ‘Rock
the Block’ Tell All
Michel and Anthony describe the “surreal” experience of taking home this season’s top honor
After six weeks of fierce competition, cold Colorado weather and unforgettable experiences, Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle (Luxe for Less) saw fireworks over their sexy, luxurious bachelor pad during the Season 4 finale of Rock the Block, HGTV’s must-see renovation competition series. Their winning embrace was full of genuine joy: The newcomers of the block turned out to be its namesake.
This was the most valuable season yet: Every new-build on the block started with a value of $1.9 million, and each team was given $250,000 to renovate. After six long weeks, the homes all appraised at over $2.7 million, but Michel and Anthony skyrocketed their reno up to a whopping $2.85 million. Seems the deck off the main bedroom, that ensuite behind the kitchen and the hidden speakeasy room really pulled through.
Kitchen Makeovers: Team Michel + Anthony
“Mountain Modern” was the inspiration for Team Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle's (Luxe for Less) design which showcases classic Colorado style with a contemporary spin. An architectural island, tons of texture throughout, soaring cabinets and striking rounded doors prove this design duo is one to watch.
Living Room Makeovers: Team Michel + Anthony
In Michel and Anthony’s living room design, an expansive green sofa adds rich color to an otherwise neutral space, while rich texture in the side chair and throw mix well with subtle prints to create interest without distracting from the spectacular view outside.
Main Bedroom Makeovers: Team Michel + Anthony
Michel and Anthony wowed the judges with ombre walls and French doors leading to an added deck that makes the most of what Lyndsay and Leslie considered the best view from the house.
Michel and Anthony’s lower level stayed true to their modern style with sleek finishes warmed up by light furnishings that perfectly complemented their contemporary atmosphere by adding a touch of warmth. Not pictured, a second full kitchen, powder room and speakeasy added tremendous value to the home and impressed judges Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab) and Veronica Valencia (Revealed).
Exterior Makeovers: Team Michel + Anthony
Exquisite stacked stone and an indoor/outdoor bar immediately grab attention in Michel and Anthony’s outdoor space. An accordion window separates the bar from the inside, carrying through the same style as the incredible accordion doors throughout the home.
Bonus Room Makeovers: Team Michel + Anthony
Anthony and Michel described their home as a tactile experience, and the bonus room is no exception. Designed to be a luxe home office, it can also be easily converted into a bedroom with their clever addition of a Murphy bed. Former Rock the Block winners Jasmine Roth (Help! I Wrecked My House), Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson (Married to Real Estate) claimed the space, which also incorporates an ensuite bathroom, could be a game changer when it comes to adding value to the home.
