Community Pride

Members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra
Thomas Wilkins CONDUCTOR
A community is a group of individuals working toward a common goal — just like an orchestra! Separately, each instrument is unique, but together they create a harmonious symphony of sound. Featuring the winner of the 2024 Crain-Maling Foundation CSO Young Artists Competition, this program pairs well-known classics with contemporary masterpieces to demonstrate the joy, power and beauty of coming together in service of something bigger than ourselves.

Once Upon a Symphony is produced and presented in partnership withEducation Open Rehearsals
Each season, the CSO opens several of its working rehearsals to high school music students. These unique opportunities provide an insider’s view of how the Orchestra prepares for a concert. Following the rehearsal, students are invited to participate in a Q&A session with a CSO musician.
2024/25 Season open rehearsal dates will be announced in the fall. For more information and to request admission, please visit cso.org/openrehearsals.
The number of students admitted is limited and reservations are required. Requests are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
