LETTER FROM OUR DIRECTOR
SD RETAILERS ASSOCIATION
I had the privilege of attending the SD Retailers Association Annual Meeting in January and would love to share this wonderful information I learned while attending. The owner of Pizza Ranch spoke about insurance coverage and having the right insurance for your businesses. They went through an unfortunate event in 2019 as a tornado had hit their brand-new arcade. They were fortunate enough to have the right insurance coverage to cover the cost of damages, employees’ wages, much more. He reminded everyone to make sure to have the coverage needed to cover your busi-
ness if a disaster happens. As we can not control what happens. Make sure you have photos, videos, and an inventory list of everything you have in your business, receipts, and wages of employees all stored off site.
Rethink Business:
The speaker during SD Retailers Association reminds us that it is okay to rethink business.
• What makes our business valuable to our customers?
• Send customers or vendors a personal message. Let them know you appreciate them.
• Remember that we all see things differently!
JOB FAIR
We are happy to announce we had 13 businesses join us for our community job fair. We have some great opportunities for job openings in our community.
PERSONAL FINANCE AND ENTREPRENEUR COURSE
The Belle Fourche Chamber partnered with Black Hills Community Loan Fund to provide education opportunities for personal finance and entrepreneurship. We had six attend the personal finance and eight are attending the five-week course for entrepreneurship. Our attendees have some great business ideas to get started in Belle Fourche. Once our attendees complete the courses, they will have the ability to and information to make their dreams come true.
SOUTH DAKOTA TOURISM
The Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Black Hills and Badlands to promote our beautiful community. We have registered to have information at all their travel shows this year. Check out our display unit at Black Hills and Badlands Tourism Center in Rapid City.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ANNUAL MEETING
Happy to see all the new businesses that have joined our community in 2022.
• Capp’s Cornerstone Refinishing
• Rebel Rose
