WILDCARD
We are pleased to announce the Sugar Bars Legacy Sale “Wildcard.” The first horse sold in the sale will be a “wildcard.” The winning bidder for the “wildcard” lot will have his/her choice of any weanling in the sale. With no colt in the ring, the auctioneer will ask for bids on the “wildcard”. It will be auctioned in the same manner as every other foal in the sale, with the exception of the fact that, no one will know until the bidding is over and the winning bidder chooses his/her foal, which horse has actually been sold. That foal must be claimed immediately on winning the bid – and then will be removed from the catalog order. The sale will resume with the remainder of the consigned foals in catalog order.

Nice built, stout buckskin colt. Dam has offspring that are ranch and rope horses. I acquired Rosie when my parents dispersed there broodmares. This colt would make a good youth project, since he has been very friendly; like his parents, since the day he was born. Eligible for the Ranchers Heritage Challenge.

“Dimond’s” stamped with the look of her sire, but also the elegance of her mama! Toughy- stamps all his colts with bone, muscle, size, balance & strong feet/legs. His sire Sugar Bars Tough, is out of Sonny Sugar the foundation sire of Jim & Joni Hunt of the Open Box Rafter Ranch in South Dakota. “Sonny Sugar progeny are among the youngest Sugar Bars bred horses to be found anywhere. Her dam is a Zan Parr Bar, Coys Bonanza, Leo & Ed Echols bred mare. “Sunshine” is a favorite of ours; with a golden personality to match her coat color! “Dimond” has a cute little head, she’s long bodied & a golden red dun. Want to see how she will turn out- check out this filly’s five year old full brother- sells as lot 61. Woodworth Ranch colts are Ranching Heritage Challenge.

Bandit’s dam (Whispy) is the girls’ show mare that has been to the State Show every year since she was three in eight different events. Laurie trained and showed her in the two year old PRQHBA futurity where she won the High Point All-Around Award. Her colts are super easy to train, smart and very versitile, with personality to boot. Big stout dun filly with zebra stripes and four white socks! She came from an excellent line of using mares. We have raised and ridden four generations of this mare line. They all have a lot of heart and won’t quit a person, no matter how long a day or how tough the job is. Our kids used this line of horses in 4-H while they were growing up. The dam was our sons favorite mare, while working for the Y Cross Ranch in Wyoming. He competed on her in ranch rodeos in Cheyenne and Laramie. Eligible for the Ranchers Heritage Challenge.

“Jag” was a chunky built colt from day one! Crossing “Toughy” with this Peppy San/Leo, Poco Tivio/ Poco Bueno, Doc Bar, Coys Bonanza, Jaguar & Leo bred mare gave us a thick bodied/muscled colt, with a cute head and short back. His sire stamped him with bone, more muscle, balance & strong feet/legs. His sire Sugar Bars Tough, is out of Sonny Sugar the foundation sire of Jim & Joni Hunt of the Open Box Rafter Ranch in South Dakota. “Sonny” was an outstanding stallion earning several halter points with limited showing, western pleasure points earner and was also used for cutting, reining & roping. His grulla dam is a heavy thick boned mare, that moves out quickly & Smoothly. Jag has given us mane ours of entertainment this summer; he gets your attention and keeps it! Woodworth Ranch colts are eligible for the Ranching Heritage Challenge.

This is one classy filly! Her sire is Zanadunn Bonanza; a red dun Zan Parr Bar, Blondy’s Dude & Coy’s Bonanza bred stallion. He’s one of the ranch’s favorite mounts; ranch raised and loves his job- ranch work: dragging calves at branding, sorting/doctoring cattle, driving cattle and checking wells. When we need an extra mount– he’s one you can pull out of the mares and saddle up. She’s just like him: easy going, an attention hog and bred for performance. To add to this little gem; we introduce her mama. Lucky Sugar Sparks is a gorgeous bay daughter of Im Lucky Today & Kahoola Sparkle. “Lucky” was my boy- we purchased him as an aged stallion, he had such a personality and had such respect for his people. Her dam a Mr Sparkle Bar/Devil Cat Dancer bred mare, came from Jim and Joni Hunt of the Open Box Rafter Ranch- S.D. Woodworth Ranch colts are eligible for the Ranching Heritage Challenge.

“Chatti” is being sold in foal to “Rebo Jr” by “Gunsmoke Rebo” by “Gunsmoke San.” This will be the 6th colt out of this mare and stud. All colts are being ranched on by us and the few we have sold are also making nice using horses. We have pasture bred and hand bred this mare and she is great to handle. “Chatti” is very kind, really easy keeper, good feet, easy to load and unload. She throws super stout colts with lots of cow and a kind eye.

Harvey is big, beautiful and gentle! The total package and in my eyes, has the perfect disposition for a horse. This 16.1 hands guy is as calm and easy going as they come. He has had over six months professional training on a ranch doing all aspects of ranch work, pulled the roping sled, started heading, patterned on barrels and was used as a lesson horse. He absolutely loves attention (brushing, bathing, riding, etc.). If you want a horse the whole family can enjoy and use, check him out. There are videos and pictures online at www.vlwranch.com.

Boon May Jewel is a shapey gray mare that has a nice handle on her and is very gentle for most anyone to ride. We have used her to move our cattle in rough country through rocks and sagebrush and she can really travel and handles herself well in tight situations. Never seems to spook at surprises in the hills and go where she is pointed. She not only is a dependable ranch horse but she is very snappy in the sorting pen and has a reining horse stop, know her lead changes and will be your friend everyday. Easy to catch, shoe and load. Nice bred mare that will fit in the boodmare band later on. This silver/gray color on this mare is hard to find. Call with additional questions.

Full brothers to this mare are being used on ranches and at ropings with very positive feedback from the current owners. Honey was started as a two-year-old and shows a great deal of promise. This is an incredible mare! Not only is she drop dead gorgeous but she is gentle and dead broke. This mare has an extensive show record; she has 5 APHA Open Halter Points, 1 Overo Color Point, 3 Novice Stock Seat, and 1 Showmanship Point. PLUS, she is a trained barrel horse! This mare has done it all; we have used her in our Equine Therapy Program with children and adults for years. This mare is truly one of the best conformation mares around, if you like paints, you will LOVE this mare. She has a HUGE hip, a beautiful neck and head. The only reason we are selling her is we don’t have a place to sell paint babies, and Aleena has outgrown this mare’s skill level in the barrels. She is APHA registered and also has Pinto Horse Association papers as well. She has some outstanding AQHA breeding in her pedigree, including Skipper W, Three Bars and Leo. LL Twisted Sister was exposed to Only One Scotch for a 2014 foal.

She is gentle with a very good handle. She moves easily off of leg pressure, knows her leads, will do a nice reining spin and has a great stop. Whether you’re going on a trail ride or to the show pen she will turn heads. This mare is always the first horse to the gate to say hi and is very easy to get along with. “No Bad Habits”
