Foals ?? Wildcard We are pleased to announce the Sugar Bars Legacy Sale “Wildcard.” The first horse sold in the sale will be a “wildcard.” The winning bidder for the “wildcard” lot will have his/her choice of any weanling in the sale. With no colt in the ring, the auctioneer will ask for bids on the “wildcard”. It will be auctioned in the same manner as every other foal in the sale, with the exception of the fact that, no one will know until the bidding is over and the winning bidder chooses his/her foal, which horse has actually been sold. That foal must be claimed immediately on winning the bid – and then will be removed from the catalog order. The sale will resume with the remainder of the consigned foals in catalog order.

He has the fastest walk of any horse I have ever owned, no matter if you’re going out from barn or headed home. Awesome to calve on! He has plenty of speed and will track those baby calves at a dead run. Good in branding pen, sorting or draggin, opening gates, has worked many colts in the round pen and has been flagged on at the youth rodeo. He was a stud until recently, which many people didn’t realize because of his quiet manner. We will be roping in the arena, out of the box all summer on live cattle and the dummy. If you are looking for an honest ranch horse that anyone can get on and ride, here he is!! Spud is 12 years old. He is very broke to ride, plus he will really watch and work a cow. At branding time he is one of the favorites to rope calves on and drag to the fire. This gelding will go anywhere you ask him to ... there is no refusing, absolutely no buck or silliness ... you catch him and get on and go. He will ride in a halter and bareback, as well. Guaranteed sound in every way and ready to ride. Don’t pass him up – horses like this one are hard to find! Come try him!

Rico is an 11-year-old, 15.2 hands, 1200 lbs., gorgeous bay gelding. They don’t come any prettier than this! There isn’t a job this boy can’t handle. Quiet when out and about but ready when needed. He has picked up broncs at 4H rodeo, headed steers, roped and doctored bulls, drug calves to fire, etc. There isn’t a steer that can outrun him. Sierra is begging to keep him and make a barrel horse out of him next. He has also been used in the mountains of Wyoming to gather, pack salt and ranch on. Don’t take our word on him, come try him out at the place. He has the caliber to be someones #1 head horse. Lots of pictures and videos on our website and facebook page: vlwranch.com. This type don’t come up for sale very often! Eric & Nancy Nixon

Pablo San Pie Seen Us Pablo Last Poco Tivio Poco Pablo San Maltese Cross Go Maltese Bleus Go Quickly Rillito Deck Rimalito Zora Lee Sailing Lizzie Mae Sailing Lonley Sailing Mae West Sputnik Mae “Pete” is a really nice moving, true ranch gelding. I’ve drug calves to the fire, sorted a lot of cattle on him, and roped a few in the pasture too. He is good in rough country and has been used plenty for his age. Pete is soft mouthed, bridles up, and lopes off in the correct lead. He could go to the ranch horse competitions real easy. He works a cow well, stays back and moves off your legs. I’ve been team roping both ends on him this summer and he takes it all in stride. Runs to a good spot, rates and waits on you. He’s broke enough to stop decent in the heeling, or make a move and log off in the heading. In training at Dakota Performance Horses. Call Levi Grimes FMI (605)441-9271.

He is easy to load and shoe. He is the perfect horse for the person who wants a good relaxing ride on a horse that can do it all. He stays that way.
