Abstract
This paper investigates why the rate of divorce in recent times has increased. In human history, divorce is experienced by couples irrespective of their social, religious, economic status. The increasing demand for divorce is a concern for the judicial system and the society at large. As such, this paper reveals possible reasons for high rate of divorce, its effect to the children, practical solutions, the grounds for legal divorce and other related issues. These become the onus of this paper using sociological, legal and analytical approach to state out the causes and also recommend solutions to minimize the high rate of divorce.
