Sweet Island Sugar Cane Scroll
Awards 12th Young Designers' Exhibition Project Competition 2012 - Graphic Design - Honorable Mention - Most Creative Talent Award of Tainan (Nominated)
Sweet Island The sugar industry was the largest economic enterprise in the early days of Taiwan, which historically had the nickname of the “Eastern Sweet Island.” I record the rise and fall of Taiwan’s sugar industry, and interviewed people who are still "Making Sweet” on their own even now. Facing this sweet past, we can’t afford to fail. We have to recall the sweet memories people still have and let the sweetness continue.
Using a stick of sugar cane as a scroll in the form of a traditional bamboo book binding, we may perceive that when one unravels the sugar cane scroll we can also reveal the story of sweetness. Here I use writing, illustration and photography to convey the history of sugar, illustrating the different ways to make sugar and Taiwan’s unique sugar arts. Sugar Cane Scroll

The images of the sugar paintings I’ve turned into coasters and packed them like old-time malt sugar cakes, so that the sweetness of the good old days may still be found in our daily lives.
These images were designed to represent the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac interacting with sugar cane.

Documentary Film
Miss Play This film records the conflicts between the culture of people who love tattooing and piercing and that of Taiwanese traditional family values. Our leading character, Miss Play was born into a family with traditional thinking but she chooses to have tattoos and piercing as her career. How she and her parents are still able to communicate and understand each other is the lesson I want to convey. Film Length: 15' 22" Software: Adobe Premiere

Flash Game
Where's Jelly now? The concept of this game is from the famous children's book "Where's Wally?" I’ve changed the name of the main character to my own nickname, “Jelly.” I designed two rounds for the game. The first round is a warm up and the second round is to find Jelly in the classroom. I combined my classmates' special characteristics in each model. When clicking on the model, it will turn around and show their characteristics, which allows audiences to interact with it. To finish the game one must find out where Jelly is. Software: Adobe Flash

Flash Animation
Unity is strength. In this Flash animation, I designed many models including one for the famous singer, characters and celebrity. Each model passes their power through a wave dance and eventually gathers the power to beat the evil mosquitoes. The meaning of this animation is that no matter what kind of difficulties we face, as long as we unite together, we can overcome them. Music: Lady Gaga – “Bad Romance” Software: Adobe Flash

Want Want Brand Image Advertising Design
Poster Design
“Want Want” cookies are widely used for worshipping gods in Chinese society. The concept for this design is to insert three kinds of “Want Want” rice crackers as proxy for the gold that traditionally symbolizes wealth, as found with the iconic Lucky Cat, Money Frog and The God of Wealth, to associate Want Want products with worship rewarded with prosperity in consumers' minds.

Snow King Ice Cream Store
Corporate Identity System Design
Using the color-gradation technique of watercolors to highlight the essence of being handmade, I designate blue as the company standard color, which in hot Taiwan conveys a feeling of cool refreshment and can easily be associated with ice cream. Other supporting colors can convey the variety of flavors that Snow King has.

Put bouquet in a reusable paper container
Inner box ( Decide on the color you want)
Outer box with ribbon handle( Decide on the special theme or pattern you want)
Structure Alternating the combinations of boxes can vary colors and create many different types of themes. People can decide on their own unique combination to make their own design when sending flowers to others.
Bouquet Packaging When people receive a bouquet of flowers from others, sometimes it is very inconvenient to carry around. Using this bouquet packaging box not only makes it easier to carry the bouquet around, but also serves as a makeshift vase. It is ecofriendly and can aesthetically decorate one’s house at the same time.
