As we approached a design concept for the Broad Museum of art, we centered on the idea of circulation. How might movement through the museum create unique relational effects and also become the formal logic behind design. Circulation originated in the spiral ramp, which would bring visitors gradually from one level of the museum up to the next. The spiral movement is visually apparent in one section, while the bulk of the museum remains a separate mass. we identified two different modes of circulation; the primary and the secondary, both critical to one another.

Mega Hub: Santa Fe Depot Expansion The Mega Hub is a train station built on existing Santa Fe Depot site at San Diego, which is proposed with the up coming California high speed rail system. The hub will accomodate existing transit systems ( San Diego Trolleys, AmTrak, Coaster and Bus Stop) and also add in others (Nearby Ferries, cruise ship deck, and California high speed rail). The other programs include a museum, office tower, hotel, restaurants, and shopping center. The hub will occupy two street blocks with a total of 750000 sq.ft land space. The Goal of the mega hub is to make travel more convenient while also draws in more p people p into downtown area.

10 + 3 Gym Deriving from the model of offseting gears that compose the first project, the ideas are applied to the development of design process of this project also. The main idea is to build a gym facilities that resembles design features of the gear project. The two main components are offseted and light penetrated. The idea of offseting gears is the core design of how the programs layout and how the building surfaces. There are skylight windows purposely designed at east-west direction for sunlight to illuminate programs and space at certain time of the day. The programs are also spread out of the site so from whichever direction people walk into the building, they can have access to facilities quickly and conveniently.
A hybrid of multi-purpose Dormitory, Apartment, & Hotel Rental The Multi-functional that situated at Delancey Street and Essex Street is a tower of 20 floor that serves as rentable dormitory, apartment, and hotel sponsor by Apple Co. The building is erected with two main structure connected together by walkways. Exterior skin warps around to create elastic like form for structure and beauty. The skin also creates common spaces for facilities like gym, theater, kitchen and workspace. There are a total of 250 units comprised of 5 different units layout to accomoneed.

Fusion Globalization produces sameness. Artistic production seeks difference. LA culturally is in transition. I am seeking to find an appropriate form of architectural expression which celebrates both the sameness and difference of these diverse cultures with a subtle new third architectural form of fused feeling tone, one of contrast and compliment, of refined and coarse sensibilities. Programmatically, the focus is to design office and exhibition towers that houses international trading. An intriguing triangular area located North of 9th Street in between of Spring Street and Main Street is the chosen site because of its closeness to adjacent fashion market. The subtle influences I am seeking for each culture came from their sensuous use of materials, color, texture, and pattern. Additionally, the intent is to create an experience, while rich in feeling, avoids blatant and obvious cultural references

Sepulveda Apartments Located in the West side of Los Angeles where many residential complexes are nearby, the focus for Sepulveda Apartments is to stand out while not overly decorative and intruduce a design that is refreshing and simple. The apartments employs geometric lines that render out the exterior shape and alternating slopes and walls to emphasize specific design.
