(Geet Outside)) Inspires, Energizes and Connects the G Generations Surveys Ind dicate that M More than 100,000 Adullts, Childrenn and Youth Played, Servved and Celeebrated During the M D Month of Appril 2011 The C Children & Naature Networrk’s (C&NN) N Natural Leaders, a nationall group of milllennial‐generration leaders throughout the U United States,, had a vision of people of all ages playiing, serving a nd celebratin ng together in n nature. They said, “what if wee designate th he whole mon nth of April ass Let’s G.O.! (G Get Outside)??” They anno ounced the vission and the Network respo onded. Tens o of thousands of individualss and organizzations partic ipated with eenthusiasm in n support of this national efforrt inspired and d led by youn ng people. Lett’s G.O.! even nts were creattive and varieed. They inclu uded family p play days, hikess, outdoor leaarning experie ences, Earth D Day celebrations, film show wings, adven nture outings,, service projeects and moree. Memories w were made, ffamily and community bon nds were streengthened, an nd, by all repo orts, it was bo oth fun and worthwhile for alll involved. • 539 events in 44 sttates were re egistered as p part of Let’s G G.O.! • More e than 100,000 people are estimated to o have particiipated in the first‐ever mo onth‐long Lett’s G.O.!— 50,00 00 adults and 60,000 children and youtth!* • 148 o of the 539 Let’’s G.O.! eventts included a service compponent. Baseed on survey rresults, we esstimate there e were more than 8,,000 adults an nd 36,000 children and yo outh who worked on habittat‐related seervice projeccts. Of those, 32 events re eport cleaningg or restoringg a total of 23 miles and 1,,200 acres. Let’s G.O.! (Get Outside) was aa great successs—with more to come.
