9 Fun Indoor Activities for Your Toddler

ďƒ˜By engaging in creative activities with your toddler you can boost his/her physical, social and emotional development. ďƒ˜These activities contribute to language development, communication skills and develop a positive approach to learning.
1) Play House Create a fort out of a cardboard box, play tunnel, or playhouse. Pretend play, like knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell, and asking if anyone is home. This helps your child develop social skills and motor skills. 2) Pretend Call Young children love the telephone. Hand a phone to your child and keep one for yourself. Pretend to make calls, and hold conversations with each other. This activity can serve to develop language, mental and social skills as you work through a conversation. 3) Count Numbers or Sing Vocabulary Characters Use your fingers when counting, and encourage them to copy you with their fingers. Speak out numbers loudly and ask them to follow you. This helps your child develop basic numeric skills and language skills. 4) Puzzles/Color Cards and Multi part toys Playing with coloured cards or multi part toys will help enhance all their important developmental skills. Your child will learn to match by following the instructions.
5) Have A Treasure Hunt Give your little one a mission. Tell them to search for a toy or treat you have hidden. Give them hints. It can provide long hours of entertainment. 6) Make A Video Kids love telling stories and showing what they have learned. Film your child’s fun activities with your phone. Later, watch the clip together and ask him to recount the adventure. It can boost memory skills. 7) Clean Together Let your kid help you in cleaning and organizing things around the house. They’ll learn cleanliness and how to keep things organized. 8) Gardening
Kids love playing in the soil. Let them help you water and clean the plants. They’ll love this activity and learn the importance of nature. 9) Go Get ‘Em
Send your kid to bring things to you from around the house, this will make them learn about objects around the house.
