Some Tips to Handle Your Child’s Tantrums
Follow us:
Tantrums might happen when your kid is hungry, tired or uncomfortable.
He/she might have a meltdown since they cannot get something or get you to do
what they would like. Your kid’s tantrums might be a bit frustrating for you.
However, rather than looking at their tantrums as disasters, you can treat them
as opportunities for learning. Give lots of positive attention Always grab hold of the moments when your kid does something good. Reward
your child with praise and positive attention for their behaviour.
Give your kid some control over small things Offer some choices like “do you wish to brush your teeth after your bath or
before taking a bath?” instead of asking straight questions.
Keep prohibited objects out of reach and sight Keeping things out of sight makes struggle a less likely occurrence.
This is not possible always particularly outside your home but you can still control
things inside your home. Distract the kid Use their short attention span to your advantage by providing something else in
preference to what they cannot have. Consider their request carefully If your kid wants something, you can consider their request delicately. Maybe it is
not an outrageous one and you can think about it.
