Graves Park Cricket Club is a small Kirton based side that is situated in the grounds of Graves Park Social Club.

A Cricket Club in the Kirton area was first founded in the 1960’s (though there is evidence of a Kirton based cricket club in the early 20th century) and played in the far reaches of Kirton Skeldyke, playing local teams from the surrounding area.

We are not sure of the clubs name, Kirton being the obvious choice! but the roots of that side were based around Kirton Skeldyke.

In 1989 Graves Park Cricket Club was inaugurated. An opening fixture was arranged in 1990, interest was obviously there for a team to be formed once more and Kirton found the home of cricket at Graves Park. Going through many stages of drastic change, Graves Park CC has bought on young players of Kirton to go on to bigger things.

Graves Park CC now play in the South Lincs and Border league Premier Division, with Saturday cricket being their main focus. As the first team to be included in the league to play on an artificial wicket, they started in Division 2, and finished seventh in their inaugural season (2015). The following year, they improved on this, finishing third. In their third season GPCC finished first securing promotion to Division 1. This was then followed by back-to-back promotions, finishing first in Division 1, which was also the first season on the new grass wicket. 2019 will see Graves Park in the Premier Division. Martin Hodgson is the current Captain (2012 - present).

We are equipped with excellent facilities and quite possibly the best artificial wicket in the local area.

With aspirations to bring a grass wicket back to Graves Park, the players and committee have put a huge effort into a new square. The dream of playing on a grass wicket became a reality in 2018.

We will strive to bring youth to the fore in our growing community.
