The FACTS behind BACK-A-LINE’s success The Industrial Athlete: A national network of physicians advising corporations to adopt sports medicine principles for industrial employees, providing them with conditioning, personal protective equipment and effective rehabilitation. “The BACK-A-LINE belt helps accomplish these three functions”. “As the #1 category of industrial injury costs, the low back should be given a high priority. BACK-A-LINE, along with an effective exercise program, helps to significantly reduce that risk.”
Ergonomic: The Industrial Hygiene Association’s Ergonomist of the year -1994, a consistent critic of industrial back belts, writes: “Your concept of a stiffer form-fitted back
the only ergonomic back support Sports Medicine: We particularly like Back-A-Line’s design when compared with the common elastic belts. The risk of muscle atrophy is caused by elastic belts doing the work that the muscles would normally be recruited to do. In contrast, Back-A-Line, with its non-stretch belt, will stimulate the abdominal muscles by providing resistance for them. Similarly, with its lumbar pad to promote lordosis, the belt should stimulate the erector muscles as well.
belt is appealing, and is much more consistent with my own thinking than many of the soft pliable belts.”
Chiropractic: International lecturer, Inventor of the “Back Companion” and other health related products, Dr. Guy Doran writes: “The stiff, rounded quality of your lumbar pad maintains the proper lordotic alignment to protect the lower spine. Promoting good posture alone should be a major contributor to back pain reduction, but the pressure of your pad against the back muscles seems to provide a further alleviating effect. “BACK-A-LINE has two patents #5,429,587 and #5,651,763.

THE SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO BACK SUPPOR T Reduce the risk of injury Minimize fatigue/pain Create new postural habits
Only BACK-A-LINE has the patented lumbar pad inside the belt to naturally stimulate your muscles into proper posture. BACK-A-LINE is covered under Medicare Reimbursement code# L0626 covering any curved, firm support pad in a wearable back support, making it the ONLY back support that can address one of the primary causes of back pain and injury - poor posture and body mechanics.

2) BACK-A-LINE is the only product ever granted a “Seal of Acceptance” by the American Osteopathic Sports Medicine Academy. 3) BACK-A-LINE has been proven effective in 24 beta tests at major corporations, all with a minimum of 20 participants, without a single negative result. Tests have shown benefits to health care, recreational sports, food service, material handling, transportation, commercial laundries, off-roading, warehousing, and military, to name a few. 4) BACK-A-LINE has the support of many nationally-known ergonomists, who totally reject the claims of the “girdles.”

Why BACK-A-LINE?
BACK-A-LINE vs. ELASTIC GIRDLES
Safe posture is an all day, every day concern. Contrary to popular wisdom, lifting, by itself, is not the primary cause of back injuries. Studies show that only 4% of back injuries are “one-event situations”. Every other one requires some level of RMI (repetitive motion), enough to weaken the spine until it ultimately fails. Therefore, good body mechanics is an all-day, every-day concern. An effective back support should naturally create better posture and body mechanics, addressing one of the true primary causes of most back injuries. Elastic “girdle” belts, by their own admission, should not be worn unless the user is lifting, rendering them ineffective in reducing the more prevalent dangers of bending, twisting, reaching, standing, etc. To the contrary, BACK-A-LINE was the subject of two peer-reviewed studies, both demonstrating an improvement in body mechanics while wearing BACK-A-LINE. The conclusion, echoing an earlier study from Harvard Medical School, suggests that BACK-A-LINE’s curved and firm lumbar pad, created “proprioceptive feedback”, naturally inducing the spine to stay within a safe range of motion.

BACK-A-LINE has a patent on “curved and firm” in a wearable back support, so no other product can produce this beneficial result. Until 2003, the elastic “girdles” could be found everywhere, and they were thought of as the miracle cure. Instead, a two-year NIOSH study, with 11,000 subjects, published in the Journal of American Medical Association, concluded that there was no reduction in pain or injury when utilizing these elastic supports. BACK-A-LINE has a proven track record of growth and endorsements from the most respected experts in the industry.
