YIN HUEI CHIN+ Portfolio
Preface I believe that good architecture is not only about creating atmospheric environments, but it is a result of structures and forms integrated holistically with the control of environmental elements. When designing buildings, contextual details are the beginning of my inspiration. In years of studies on architecture, I have established passion on transforming conceptual thinking into understandable narratives or architectural language. These are selected projects I have done during my studies and practices.

eVolo 2015 Skyscraper Competition
Aging society is one of the emerging issue in both developed nations and developing ones. The demography of the third age group is increasing rapidly as the life expectancy of an individual has increased throughout the years. This shows that design for the third age group is inevitable in the future as more elderly are going to use the built environment. This also indicate that the working population by then would have to bear the increasing number of third age population as the dependency ratio of the third age is expected to double. In order to help the elderly live independently, provision of elderly friendly design for the third age group is a necessity. The Tree of Life is intended to promote the lifestyle of walking and hiking among the third age group. This instil new challenges for the elderly group for which they have new goals in their life. This skyscraper designed to have walking ramps instead of staircases as the mode of vertical transportation in the skyscrapers. The induced active lifestyle among the elderly group will have positive effect for them which indirectly encourage them to have the will to travel higher by foot. The outcomes of having the will to travel higher is the luxury of having a bigger accommodation. This provide the extra motivation to move towards the goal while maintain a healthy yet active lifestyle. Architecture Competition Jan 2015 KL Malaysia
