COMMUNITY CENTER

The project’s goal is to provide a public place for the locals, while being in Bengaluru’s urban area, they still closely resemble a rural population. It was intended to change their perspectives, expose them to modern tech nology, and provide them with the right education to combat unemployment by allowing them to create, access, and reuse knowledge by gathering ephemeral data. Thus, the library and museum would be the most suitable building types in this case.

ASTRONOMICAL CENTER

The project is about providing ground- based astronomical observatory for public research and also the training center to encourage students towards astronomy and Astrophysics. The project also includes the museum that have exhibits that reflects what is space and physical phenomena of space. Harness space technology for national development, while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration.

Location - Challakere, Chitradurga. Site area -6Acres Project type -Public & Semipublic

PROJECT INTRODUCTION :

The project is about providing ground- based astronomical observatory for public research and also the training center to encourage students towards astronomy and astrophysics.

The project also includes the museum that have exhibits that reflects what is space and physical phenomena of space.

GOVERNMENT PROPOSAL :

ISRO :

The India Space Research Organization is the national space agency of India. It operates under the department of science (DOS).

ISRO is Indians primary agency for performing tasks related to space - based applications, space exploration and development of related technologies, it is one of the six government space agencies in the world which possess full launch capabilities.

ORGANIZATION CHART OF ISRO :

WHY IN CHALLAKERE ?

SAFEST SEISMIC ZONE

India is divided into 5 seismic zones all over in which the danger in earthquake decreases in ascending order (i.e., zone - 5 is the safest and zone - 1 is most dangerous)

Challakere comes under zone - 4 in seismic zone explained above. Which is the safest place .

LESS LIGHT POLLUTION

As per the research from the ISRO challakere has less light pollution which makes the sky clear for the observatory activity.

Light disturbs the observatory activity, so lesser the light pollution more the productivity of the observatory telescope.

CLEAR SKY AT NIGHT

As per the research from the ISRO challakere has clear sky most of the days in a year.

The more clear the sky visible, more the productivity of observatory telescope.

FAR FROM CBD

Challakere is 250km away from the central bengaluru so there will be less vehicular movement at the night which leads to less pollution of light .

VISION :

Harness space technology for national development, while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration.

MISSION :

> Design and development of launch vehicles and related technologies for providing access to space.

> Design and development of satellites and related technologies for earth observation, communication, navigation, meteorological and space science.

> Indian national satellite (IRS) program for management of natural resources and monitoring of environment using space base imagery.

> Space based applications for societal development.

> Research and development in space science and planetary exploration.

SCOPE :

> Space observatory provides research on space for the benefit of the country.

> It helps in training the astronauts of our country for the future mission rather than going to other countries like Russia for training.

To design a space observatory we need to consider more details and more technicalities

Site proposed from the government in challakere

CHALLENGES :

The basic principle of working telescope which is used for observation.

> Consideration of more technicalities of the science equipments

> As we all know space observatory is not a public space but making it accessible to the public is on challenge.
