The NFFF Training Academy is there to help you and your businesses!

There has never been a better time to train with the National Federation of Fish Friers. Their new range of courses are relevant, fun, easily accessible and great value for money as your staff members gain new skills and qualifications. Training employees is a vital part of any business, leading to improvements in employee performance, an increase in staff engagement, and giving them empowerment, all leading to greater employee retention and growth.

NFFF President Andrew Crook said: “Formal training is not a cost to your business, it’s an investment, and by us all raising standards the fish and chip industry not only gets stronger but it’s reputation for providing quality jobs and long-term careers increases.”

One shop who has enabled their staff through training at the NFFF is Oliver’s at Redcar. Owner Helen Roberts said: “The courses which they offer were perfect for our staff who have refreshed and updated their Level 2 and 3 in Food Hygiene and also the Level 2 course in Food Allergens. The feedback from the staff was extremely positive and they all completed their courses with ease. From my perspective as a business owner the full process of ordering and recording the courses was easy and for the future, we will continue to use their services for any new staff coming into the businesses.” Food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen awareness play a huge part in a modern-day fish and chip shop. All staff should know the basics and the following courses will cover much of what they will need to know and beyond. The first four courses are only £9.50 each per person. Level 2 – Food Hygiene - The course aims to teach food handlers the basic and necessary protocol for handling food in a safe and hygienic manner.

Level 2 – Health& Safety – The course is designed to be concise and informative, and to allow learners to gain a general understanding of health and safety. Level 2 – HACCP - Completing the Level

Two HACCP Awareness course ensures that you have practiced due diligence.

Level 2 – Allergens Awareness- The course is aimed towards those whose occupations have any involvement in the handling and preparation of food.

Level 3 – Food Hygiene - The course is aimed towards business owners, supervisors, and managers as it involves the management of a food business as well as guidelines on how to prepare, handle and cook food safely. It is also targeted towards food handlers who have completed Level Two Food

Hygiene and Safety and would like further their education. This course is

just £65.

All employees must legally receive fire awareness training as part of their induction into the workplace. Why not formalise this training by enrolling them in the course below.

Level 2 - Fire Awareness in the Workplace
