'Co-working & Co-living' Individual Work
This project is an idea incubator, it is analogous to an integrated living and working quarter, it will provide the tools and opportunity for designers to remove the boundary between theory and practice. The new project will not just be a center for creation; it will be a living quarter for people and the community to engage through architecture. The 'incubator' mainly contains 3 kinds of "unit"---Modeling and Lecturing Unit, Designing and Living Unit, Reading and cafe Unit. The studio workspace will be optimized with the proper tools and materiality to support any types of creation. Beyond what is necessary, the architecture would be reserved and simple to not obstruct creativity and to successfully meet the designers' needs. The emphasis is not in form of the space itself, but rather the creativity and production that the space enables.

Activities
This unit contains a modeling studio and a lecture hall. It will break down traditional boundaries between theory and practice by providing an open ecosystem for ideas and collaboration. It will be an open laboratory that encourages informal experimentation both inside and outside of the building.

'Disorder/Order' Individual Work
The design of Site Dwelling is located on the cliff of the bay, in the village of Salir do Porto, Portugal. Salir do Porto has a number of significant landmarks within a prominent landscape; it is a place of great cultural heritage, and the design aims to preserve these historical significance and tries to make conversation with history. And I try to make a dwelling dynamic, it is not a traditional dwelling for a daily life, it is a spiritual space for all the visitors who want to get a unique experience in a totally different way. Thus, we plan to design a dwelling more than a dwelling, a building that can contain time and sceneries. And try to make the visitors to feel the dynamic views through different type of houses, althougn the functions a re separated, they are indivisible whole.

'Here and After' With Shengqi Wang
Our project rethinks burial culture, considering what a universal memorial for all could be. The project evokes universal emotions through primitive forms and off-scaled experiences, targeting the commonalities among all human beings where we grieve for our losses, fear for the unknown, and desire to understand. The project contains stone carvings from previews mausoleums and tombstones, rearranged and displayed art. New angles and perspectives on these old forms of art are introduced, paralleling and provoking new perspectives to funerary rituals. Interior spaces are tranquil and contemplative. The passage eventually brings visitors above ground into a new landscape freed from graves and returned to the city un-programmed. The project is revealed as an incremental and fragmented journey, macro to detailed / bright to dim, old to new‌ with understanding unwrapping depending on point of view and access.

The Process
From tiny plots to wide-open "rural cemeteries" and modern "memorial parks," the evolving design of cities of the dead. In order to turn the cemetery into a universal cemetery, the exsiting mausoleums will be reused into the main materials to build the underground memorial spaces, the names will be removed; obelisks, sculptures, tombstones, crosses will be reassembled into different immersive exhibition spaces.

'Link the Urban Life' Individual Work
Inspired from the Mahhatan proposal made by Raymond Hood, this work is an infrastructure project that can better meet the emerging demand for holding activities like weekend market or exhibitions into daily life in New York City. It aims to focus on the way of living, way of how people can be really involved into life. Like a bridge, but more social functional, the new building serves as an intermediary and allows for a chronological description of events. It has flexible floor plans that can be passed through. Plenty of activities occurring at the same time. Depending on future requirements, further infrastructure can be added to the existing structure, besides, part of the building can be movable. Similar to a furnished space, the spatial sequence can be adapted and changed as required.

A Dialog with Community Depending on the needs of the local communit y, it is a spor t s (elevated) platform, a vertical community garden, a space for the street art, city lounge, drivein cinema, etc. Metaphorically, the new building can be considered the extension where you can experience the activities in urban life. The transparency of the facade invites citizens to come in, to walk into the building and discover new spaces, to stay for some minutes or maybe some hours, and to be part of something that was not there before.

'Invisible' Relationship Individual Work
Until recently it could be said without much hesitation that the objects in our everyday lives were controlled by the people who use them. Information or stories was stored or registered on the surface of objects through the physical traces of how we used them and through the visible relationships created between the various objects we collected. The object in material culture terms was both a tool and an artifact in a narrative written by individual people. In the space which lacks of human curation—a method by which we construct narratives—presents the perception of randomness. When extrapolated to the domestic, the 'smart' object coupled with algorithmic selection can’t help but soon transform the home radically as well. The design questioned that what if the person no longer the central protagonist in the story of architecture?

'Nature / Natural' With Junru Xu
People have the tendency to present reality in social media in a brighter color than it is. There seems to have a gap between the digital technology and physical world. This project takes a positive position to digital technology, and uses it as an enhancer of the physical world; to connect the physical and digital world. We propose to add a sixth sense to the other five senses. Besides touch, hearing, smell, sight, and taste, the digital sense is integrated into all five senses, to enhance the five senses through digital mean. The project will link these worlds and offer experiences of six senses to raise people’s awareness, that there are many pixel moments are not easy to be noticed..
67
Introduce the Mesh We think that the mesh allows people to observe, to ‘reuse’ the senses, emphasize the process/experience. Thus, we insert the digital sense in the mesh system. Through variations of mesh with different textures, sizes, colors that correspond to thermal or ecological boundaries, we explore the possibilities that mesh can create.

'Adaptive Resilient City' Theory Course
Because of the flooding, the population of Venice is decreasing, and there are only less than 60,000 residents. As tourists are rushing in, smart real estate merchants continue to buy old houses and raise prices. The real Venetian can only move out. The resilient ring city is designed to save residents living in the old city. Our prototypical city is like a self-adaptive “Donut(hereafter as Donut) based on the development demand of the cities at risk from sea level rise. In the cental of Donut, we choose Venice as a target city since it is one of the most vulnerable cities to sea level rise in the world. After the construction of the Donut’s basic infrastructure, the migration of residents is a progressive process depends on the degree of severity and market demand. In general, the pattern of growth is Transit-Oriented Development(TOD) based on the loop line tube station.
81
Our main design concept is to develop a self-adaptive resilient city. Urban resilience is the capacity of individuals, communities, institutions, businesses, and systems within a city to survive, adapt, and grow no matter what kinds of chronic stresses and acute shocks they experience. By adopting the following design principles into planning, construction, and governance, the resilient city could be achieved gradually. Design Principles 1. Develop a resilient city by creating a sponge city mechanism; 2. Prioritize land use efficiency in the development through compact, efficient, mixed-use and functionally balanced urban design; 3. View municipal waste as a resource by improving waste recycling and implementing waste minimization mechanisms.

'Human & Cat' Practice 2018
The client of this project is Ms.Hana and her cat, the biggest challenge is how to connect the human life with cat’s life. Cats love jumping, climbing and sleeping, so according the cat’s behavior, SAY ARCHITECTS took a whole day observation to HANA’s cat, and summarized the different behaviors in different time, then try to create a “cat public space”in house, like cat tree, cat flap, aerial plank road and other installations. In order to increase the interaction between human and cat, SAY ARCHITECTS created an open bathing experience space. Due to HANA’s clothe related career, translucent wardrobe which is facing the bed gives the client a opportunity to start daily life with considering today’s outfit. Also the visual connection better the interaction between cat and HANA.
