REAL WEDDINGS
JORDAN & STANLEY Jordan and Stanley’s hashtag — #beautyandthegoatee — really says it all. It expresses the humorous and playful tone of their relationship, but also the fairy tale grandeur of their wedding, made complete with a Cinderella-style carriage. Stanley’s heart was set on proposing in Italy. After carefully selecting Venice as their destination, he set up a photoshoot for the two of them in order to capture every moment as she said “Yes!” Jordan and Stanley then infused the same romantic, Italian feeling as their engagement into their wedding day. The black-tie affair was bursting with lush florals and adorned with hues of hunter green, cream, blush and gold. After exchanging vows at Decatur First United Methodist Church, the two were swept away to Agnes Scott College in a white horse-drawn carriage. The reception venue’s high vaulted ceilings and bold columns added to the elegant ambiance. After enjoying an amazing meal together, guests were entertained by a caricature artist and hours of dancing to the R&B music the couple had grown up on. The energy was so invigorating, Jordan couldn’t get back to the dance floor fast enough after changing into her custom lace jumpsuit for the evening. Stanley had planned surprises for Jordan all throughout the day, but among the most memorable was being serenaded by her favorite R&B singer, J. Holiday. “This moment was priceless,” Stanley says. “and we still, to this day, get countless messages of guests saying our wedding was one of the best weddings ever.”
