MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT METRO MALL
STUDIO DESIGN FOR 6TH SEM Seeking in the development of the metro city Nagpur. We were given a site at Chhatrapati sq. where we had to develop a mixed use building wrapping up ofce spaces, commercial spaces as well as recreational like restaurants. Mixed-use developments are characterized by their “live, work, play” facilities and amenities in a single development. The requirements were xed for each of the three and we were required to work according to the DCR of Nagpur.

LEVEL PLANNING CONTOUR GUEST HOUSE
Playing with contour site was this problem about. Way more about understanding the levels of contour . Getting into the climatic considerations of different zones, where my zone was hot and dry. Contour was all about studying the orientation of the built form , shadows according to the building etc. To be dealing with contour sites in very complex and I need to brush it up even more.

S.A.DESHPANDE DESIGN TROPHY 2018 EXPERIENCE UNCANNY IN 7 ATMOSPHERIC DRAWING
THE DJINNS OF BHOOTPOOR The Thematic Odyssey of TheUncanny.....
The Project...... There are innumerable instances in literature, lms, the oral traditions of story telling & popular writing wherein terror, horror, dislocations, spooky situations, eerie & weird atmospheres are best explained in the physical construct of architecture. THE CENTRALITY OF THE UNCANNYIS THE ABSOLUTE CONSTRUCT.
WHAT IS UNCANNY? uncanny n kani/ adjective strange or mysterious, especially in an unsettling way. "an uncanny feeling that she was being watched“.
• The uncanny is the psychological experience of something as strangely familiar, rather than simply mysterious.

4.MATERIAL
•SOME NOTES, •SOME POINTERS, •SOME DIRECTIONS, •SOME SITUATIONS, •SOME CIRCUMSTANCES, •SOME POSSIBILITIES. No architecture is supposedly meant to terrorize. But when terror prepares to inhabit it; it makes amends. It locates itself in its essential constituent; and revels in this new found condition.

ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS WHICH CAN CAUSE UNCANNY :
IMPROPER STAIRCASE
an imambara complex in Lucknow, India, built by Asaf-udDaula, Nawab of Awadh, in 1784. Ÿ The architectural beauty of mughal period. Ÿ It is the topmost haunted place in lucknow. Ÿ It is an 275 years old built form, the main objective to
of innocent men, women and children, the ghosts of whom can be seen in the amusing mazes of the monument. Ÿ It is neither a mosque nor a dargah. Ÿ The monument in total contains 7 floors,In which 3 floors are underwater.

similar effect on our mind if we relate it with a tarrifying history. Ÿ who were the original in habitants? why the abandonment ? why no present owner? these questions are inapplicable without some metaphysical cause added to the atmosphere.

1. How well we understand the Uncanny 2. How appropriately we will pick a location 3. How would the setting be 4. How will we pick a project that will best dene, delineate, deploy & display the Uncanny 5. How will we DRAW the 7 ATMOSPHERICS of the Project.
MINARATES NO SIGN OF TURRETS AND ONE HUGE OPENING IN MIDDLE ŸWHAT IS THERE- THREE ARCHED OPENING, DECORATED WITH TURRETES, OCTAGONAL CHATRIS AND LOTUS PETAL EMBRODRY. ŸUNCANNY – 3 OPENING IN ONE GATE IS NOT COMMON. CONSTRUCTION OF TURRETS IS NOT COMMON.THEY LOOK BEAUTIFUL IN MORNING BUT GIVE NEGATIVE FEELING AT NIGHT.
