Produced in collaboration with David Gasi. Plus a proposed range of additional newsletter covers for the next four years, as well as three different flyers to give specific information on events held by the college. These will include open days, exhibitions and college events.

HIS DARK MATERIALS Typography / Print / Oct 10 A series of new edition book jackets for the trilogy - His Dark Materials, that celebrate the themes and characters within the books through the applied patterns. Designs could easily be transferred across to a hard-back embossed and foiled limited edition series.

THE BIG GIG FESTIVAL Identity Design / Stationary / Print / Promotion / Nov 10 Identity design for a small Wiltshire Music Festival, known as the Big Gig. This intimate festival has an atmosphere and performance quality to rival larger more established festivals, plus supports new up and coming music, local food and beers. The concept revolves around the wonderful feeling of enjoying the greatest things in life out in the open under an exposed sky. A full range of promotional material was created to support the festival. This includes posters, flyers, tickets, wristbands, stickers, badges, clothing, bags, a magazine advert, a festival program, website, and phone app. The program produced includes all the information needed to help the festival goers get the most out of the event. This information and move was then adapted for a phone app to create a handy guide to use while on site.

PIZZA EXPRESS Interior Wall Graphic / Environmental Design / Jun 10 A interior wall graphic for a new branch of Pizza Express opening in Bath. The theme was ‘Coffee Couture’ and pulled in elements of coffee culture, Bath’s history and couture fashion in the 60’s.

LEEDS COLLEGE OF ART END OF YEAR SHOW (proposed) Promotion / Print / Concept / March 11 A range of promotional material including a poster and flyer combined, a private show invitation, signage, a large scale banner and a tote bag to promote Leeds College of Art’s End of Year Show programme. The concept is based on the perception that to be successful as a creative you have to be in London. However today the North is producing creative talent to rival anything coming out of the rest of the UK. Hence ‘The Tide’s Turning’. The tone is light-hearted and meant as a gentle jibe. The concept is designed to appeal to Northern Humour as well as intrigue Southern visitors. The private invite is designed so that on pulling the invite from its sleeve the die-cut waves go from white to blue - as if the tide was on the move. The indoor signage is made up of three separate ‘waves’ that stand one in front of the other to create a 3D display and a new level of visual interest.

FEDRIGONI EVENT Promotion / Print / Concept In collaboration with Liam Hine / Nov 10 A promotional pack to promote a series of events to be held at Fedrigoni Showroom, called Folded. The idea is to supply designers in the area, of which there are many, with Fedrigoni paper stocks and ask them to fold it into a creation on a given theme (eg planes). The designers are invited to the event where the creations are displayed as an exhibition until the next event. By getting designers to handle the paper - they appreciate the quality of the stock Fedrigoni supply as well as enjoy a good event in the great space that is the showroom. Pack includes: poster, invite, paper stock and envelope. The themes proposed are linked to events in the London calender. Thus in the month of the Chelsea Flower Show, the designers will be asked to fold on the theme of flowers, the month of the Boat Show and boats will be the chosen subject. The invitation includes a business card that can be removed and kept for future reference, long after the event has finished.

CURRICULUM VITAE About me

I’m Chloe Galea, very soon to be a BA Graphic Design graduate from Leeds College of Art. I am happiest designing for print, promotion, publication and packaging. Within this image production, colour, layout and creative typography are all important to my practice. On graduating I’d like to work as part of a small team in a creative studio either here or abroad. Enthusiastic, hard working and creative I can’t wait to start work in the industry.
