I love how vibrate the colours are that Manish has used for this piece and the print design on the jacket.
I particularly like the middle garment. I love how extravagant it is. I love the vibrancy of the green and the leather look.
I love everything about this image. The colours, shape of the dress and the hat. This was from his Spring 2007 collection.

I think this hat looks very busy given how many daisy's there are and the range of materials and colours used but it also has a very feminine and elegant look to it. I love the shape of this hat. It just looks like he has took a piece of plastic and melted it and just left it to set. It looks effortless and quickly done but the shape is really interesting and quirky. This would be quite easy to recreate.
I like the shape of this hat. I could recreate it for my own shoot using an old headband then add paper or material and mold it create a shape then join it to the headband.
I don’t know who the designer of this dress is but I love it. It has all been made out of old umbrellas and this would be so easy to recreate. I like how its just all black, plain and simple but the shape of the dress is so quirky and effective and interesting.
This garment has been made out of Wood cut outs. I found this image on Pinterest it was a part of Nieuwenhuyse Eco-fashion Collection. I like the look of the texture of this garment I think it looks animalistic.
Gary Harvey All of these garments are from a variety of collections created by Gary Harvey. He is inspired by vintage couture and everything he uses is recycled. I like how a lot of his garments are made out of old clothing like the top right. The bodice is made from ties and the bottom left is made from different shades of denim.
Both of these images have been taken from Pinterest I don’t know who the designers are for them but I liked them. This jacket has been made out of and old map of the world.
This has been made out of paper plates, spoons and napkins.
I don’t know who the designers are for these but I like how they’ve just took can sealers and used them as a colour and for the bodice.
Illustrators
Cecilia Carlstedt
I love how she uses neutral colours then adds a dash of colour like in this image she has lined the eyes with green and made part of the top green.
Cecilia uses a range of media for her illustrations like ink, water, paint and pencil.
I could recreate this for my own styled shoot by dripping ink onto the material I use for my garment. I like how washed out some of her illustrations are. They look effortless but beautiful.
Alber Elbaz
I like the colours and the simplicity of these illustrations. It just looks like he has been cutting and sticking to create an illustration.
Leendert Masselink
I personally don’t particularly like these illustrations but I was interested in the faces. I think the same sort of style would be good to use for my styled image make up.
I don’t know who these illustrations are by but all of them have been done by using free machine embroidery. I think they are beautiful. They are are just relaxed and unrestricted. I also like the Alice in Wonderland illustration because it isn’t on paper it has been done on a piece of fabric. I think this would be a nice way to illustrate my garment or accessory showing on my final styled image.
All of these illustrations have been done by Nike Schroeder. I love his work. He uses the technique of free hand sewing for his illustrations.
Experimentation on a mannequin
EVALUATION FOR THIS FIRST ILLUSTRATION I USED THE CONTINUOUS LINE TECHNIQUE FOR THE WHOLE THING INCLUDING THE TOP. I USED THE CONTINUOUS LINE TECHNIQUE BECAUSE I FOUND THAT DRAWING FREE HAND MY IMAGE DOESN'T LOOK ACCURATE WHEREAS, EVEN THOUGH DRAWING WITH A CONTINUOUS LINE IS ALSO INACCURATE IT LOOKS QUITE FRESH AND UNIQUE AND GIVES MY PIECE AND ORIGINAL LOOK. I USED FINE LINER FOR THE WHOLE IMAGE.
For this illustration I used the same face but focused on just the face. I used the continuous line drawing technique again and still used a fine liner but for the hair and the lips I used ink. I like the dripping effect the ink had on the image and even though the ink has drink and a lot of the image is covered I think it looks very simple with a splash of colour. I TOOK THE CONTINUOUS LINE TECHNIQUE FROM VARIOUS ILLUSTRATIONS THAT WE ANALYSED DURING THE LESSON AND I FOUND IT WORKED BEST FOR ME BECAUSE I AM NOT AN ACCURATE DRAWER. I ENJOYED USING THE DIFFERENT MEDIAS ESPECIALLY THE INK BECAUSE OF HOW IT FELT ON THE PAGE AND HOW IT LOOKED IT WAS QUITE FREE THE WAY IT FELL DOWN THE PAGE.
