Reason for choosing character: This character was partly chosen through influence. In Dark Places, Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road) plays Libby Day, a closed-off, middle-aged woman who witnessed the brutal murder of nearly her entire family, 28 years ago. Female characters in thrillers such as Libby Day are important because they show that someone does not have to be perfect, they can be damaged, angry and afraid. Reason for choosing character: This character is our femme fatale, she is inspired by "Eve" from Once Upon A Time in America and "Lisbeth Slander" from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The character is inspired by "Eve" because she acts innocent and reserved but goes looking for Rhiannon to hurt her and seek revenge. Her appearance is greatly inspired by her as well, with dark clothing they gives a sense of mystery. "Lisbeth" is mysterious, intelligent and rebellious, this is what we our character to have aspects of. Reason for choosing Charley to play Kyra: We decided to cast Charley to play this character as she had similar features to what we were looking for. Charley has dark hair and is a 16 year old, small girl. We thought that since Charley is in our group she is likely to do a better job acting than someone who may not be in our group since she will have more understanding of the plot.

Struggling with a difficult home life has resulted to Rhiannon turning into a bully to inflict pain on others so that she can make them feel the hurt that she feels almost every day.
Reason for choosing character: This character was chosen as we knew it was a generic convention of a thriller film to have a character with a difficult past that goes on to cause trouble. We also decided to include this character as it fit with our storyline and we needed a main evil character within our film. The name Rhiannon Erwin was chosen as ‘Rhiannon’ is commonly known as a witch’s name. This signifies that Rhiannon is a bad and evil character that has no good in her in this circumstance. The last name Erwin Reason for casting Harriet to play Rhiannon: We decided that Harriet should play Rhiannon as she is quite tall which can show that she has power over the two smaller girls within the film. We decided that she would make a good match with the character and that it would be simple to plan filming times since if we had all of our characters as members of our group.
