After a miserable 2020 I thought Covid Rules permitting I should try to run the Show this year. Getting sponsors proved challenging as the old sponsors were out of area and new ones were either furloughed or closed for the duration, however after a Facebook appeal quite a few people came to the rescue for which I am eterally grateful, this show wouldn't be possible unless sponsored.

Lots of changes the biggest being a new venue, land kindly offered by Sarah Shaw at Tiffield for the Show and the Dressage evenings. Following advice entries were to be online only which worked very well. The weather caused some concern but it stopped raining and the ground dried up well.

Large entries made a long day for judge Belinda Spittle in Ridden Ring, Best Turn Out record entries of 23 split into horses and ponies, Lead Rein and 1st riddden had a good entry and the ridden Veteran was a very large class having to be split again. The rest of the ridden classes were well supported culminating in Claire Costello and the Eyecatcher winning the Ridden Championship.

The Inhand Ring judged by Karen Pickwick had plenty of entries in each class from Young Stock to Veterans, Exracers to Young Handler. With Jane Harper and her lovely horse Crimliave 2 winning the championship. Ring 3 the Hunter Ring judged by Amanda Wilford. Its always a struggle to get entries but all the classes had sufficient and she had some nice horses and ponies to judge and a non-scary course made for more clear rounds than in the past.

Champion in this ring was Leah Sansome with Edwyns Royal Flyer. Supreme Champion was Claire Costello with the Eyecatcher.

All this was only possible because Sarah Shaw let me have use of her field at Tiffield and put up rings and provided secretaries tent and lots of support.Pete Kingham provided the catering and was very busy all day, not just a burger van but plenty of different nosh to eat!

No qualifiers this year except for the Sundshine Tour as Royal London isn't running and Equifest in a different guise, no veteran championships with 15+ folding altogether.
