OUR PURPOSE We are a member focused, volunteer driven not-for-profit organization dedicated to transforming our industry into the world's most responsible and innovative oil producer. Founded in 1986, we work to strengthen Canada's energy sector and accelerate the careers of members through a wide range of technical, education, and networking resources and events.

OUR EVENTS CHOA embraces the vision of Canada being the world's most innovative, sustainable oil producer, and is here to create opportunities and space that can spark the shift and drive the advances our industry needs. Working closely with our sponsors and stakeholders, the CHOA events program is designed to create connection, build and share knowledge, and inspire leadership contributing to our future.

SPE/CHOA SLUGGING IT OUT CONFERENCE Going to its 30th year, the Slugging It Out Conference is a partnership between CHOA and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) to discuss key technical and business issues impacting heavy oil.

HEAVY OIL 101 Heavy Oil 101 is a series of interactive courses (live and virtual) focused on the end-to-end overview of our heavy oil industry, from extraction to retail.

FORE!CHOA GOLF INVITATIONAL Hosted at Priddis Greens, Alberta's exclusive golf course, FORE!CHOA celebrates the many relationships formed in our industry and is a golf event like no other.

STAMPEDE SOCIAL Socialize and network with industry movers and shakers at our Stampede Social. With live music entertainment, this event will get you and your guests warmed up for the Calgary Stampede.

HERITAGE STOMP! This family social event celebrates energy past, present, and future. Working in partnership with Heritage Park, this fun-filled family event will explore past innovation to inspire optimism for our future.

CHOA INDUSTRY FALL CONFERENCE Our premier conference features industry updates, corporate project outlooks, and topics on innovation and sustainability.

Explore a framework for Indigenous truth and economic reconciliation and discuss the experiences of our Indigenous partners, what's working and what can be improved.

A primer on ESG and key activities/updates on driving ESG performance in heavy oil. We will touch on the role of government, industry, and associations.

CARBON CAPTURE IN HEAVY OIL

OIL SANDS PATHWAYS TO NET ZERO
