PREFACE

Started to concern about the best benefits of publication sacle.

I graduated from school of architecture in 2014. Several years earlier, when I was in high school. Where was a very popular Japanese TV program which is about how architectures change people's life. Especially residential housing. The lovely smile from people's face touched me, make me want to do something else like the architects in the program. That is why I choosed to study architecture. During the last 5 years of architecture training. Over 30 design project practices. Though most of those projects are architecture training, I recognized that I always keep focus on urban issues, the benefits of most people. Cause as the fact, architecture are huge and expensive machine for private use mostly. Instead of causing so much resources to only make few people satisfied, I strongly believe we should add up extra benefits which is to glad most of other citizens. That is also the reason that I want to study landscape architecture.

The expectation of sustainable design

When I was young, I started to believe in "I-Kuan Tao" with my grandmother. One of the main idea of "I-Kuan Tao" is to seek how human live with the nature peacefully. I believe this is the reason that I become interested in sustainable design thinking. As more and more projects I had practiced in university, I always think about how can I make buildings more environment friendly. During the thesis project, I tried to make architecture grows and seems like vegetable, and made plants grow on the building as possibly as I can. But still, though it is not impossible, it just cost too much natural and social resources to make it happen. So I had an idea, in stead of causing so much resources trying to save energy. Why don't I build by plants, learn from nature!?

To fix the impact that buildings in Taiwan had contributed to the environment.

After I graduated from school of architecture. I worked in a architecture firm. At that time my job was to design residential houses which founding by construction companies. Those buildings are machines used to make money. Therefore it costs as low as possible, so that they can earn as much as possible. So it definitely wouldn't consider about sustainability, wouldn't care about carbon dioxide cost or anything else either. At that time, I was very disappointed about those circumstances. So I decided to simply plant more trees. I can't asked them to invest more founds for more sustainable building. But I can definitely use plants to undo the damages those buildings had contributed.

TRACE OF OLD JAPANESE BUILDING Taiwan was once a Japanese colony, the sclae of the streets and house was planed as Japanese urban thinking, to be tiny and narrow. The trace of this kind of old Japanese building illustrate the history of the city.

SITE

FIRE PROTECTION STRIP This kind of alleys are often connected to the backdoor of residential housing. Though it's uesd to separate fire, it's filled with lots of scooters now.

LOCATION :

Taipei, Taiwan

TYPE :

Parking Tower & Play ground

DESCRIPTION : This is a typical kind of block in Taipei. The narrow alleys and motorcycles makes both vehicle and people hard to pass by. Children have no place to play, scooters have no place to park. I wish to creat a place that can contain scooters efficiently, so that the extra space can be offered to children.

DESCRIPTION : This community centre is planned for those citizens who had constantly making contrubutions to enviroment protection. The building will be separated to two parts - the repair shops and the show room. The idea was to collect used resources/furnitures to the repair shops and then bring the used product a new function or just fix it. Then place those item to the show room. The show room is actually a public place which allow people to use it as there own space as a living room, meetingconference room or even a cafeteria. However those spaces will all filled with second hand furnitures which allow people to use use as there own product. Of course if they like the products, they can bring it home or use there own stuff to make a deal. At last, the goal is to reduce the consumption of natural or social resources to protect the enviroment!

CONCEPT - LIVE WITH NATURE The existence of the architecture will be designed under the thinking of sustainabillity. In order to connect the green belt between the central park and the city stadium and reduce the influence of heat island effect. I tend to consider the archtecture as part of the landscape or garden of the city.

The architecture must grow like a tree

About me As time go by, I often heard people mention that they can't understand that why kids laughs at almost everything. I am not that kind of person. I always remember those funny things that make me smile. I grow up beside a small hill and tiny river. I used to play with those frogs, water or even just flowers. I love nature and I know that deep inside my mind, that little kid with his naive funny smile will always be there and trying so hard to bring the world happiness!
