For six years husband and wife team, Eugene Myrick & Kesha Monk-Myrick have been on a mission to debunk the myth that black people DON’T get married. They insist that there is NO BALANCE being provided by the media. Where are the of positive images of black people? We created ChocolateBrides.com in 2003 as a direct result of planning our wedding and not being able to find any wedding magazines or websites that profiled people of color. Since then, Chocolate Brides has developed into MORE than an informational site for brides to be. Behind the dresses, flowers and limos - exists an incredible network of women from all over the world.   Our messageboard is the pulse of the Chocolate Brides brand. We realized the power of social networking long before Facebook, MySpace & Twitter. Our brides often invite each other to their weddings because of the close bond & camaraderie that is formed via our website. Members of the messageboard remain connected to ChocolateBrides.com after the wedding ceremony. They come back to share their wedding day, recommend vendors and to help other brides create their dream wedding. We've virtually observed brides get married, buy homes, become parents and venture into various business opportunities. Chocolate Brides is a movement. Our base is comprised of brides-to-be, wives, singles, divorcees and even MEN who simply support our vision. Fed up with the negative imagery of black women & men, we are determined to continue to spread the word about Chocolate Brides. Our mission is to promote loving marriages, build friendships and supporting one another through the highs and lows of life. ChocolateBrides.com does not only assist with the wedding planning process, we also help women build strong marriages.
