Chinese Knot
Body of Lantern
O
Cloth string holding the Chinese Knot under represent the hands from the strong one to protect the weaker one and never give up any one of them. Although the cloth strings on Chinese Knot are thin but they combine with each other and not easily to break down represents the the power of unity.
CHINESE KNOT Chinese knots represent to ward off evil spirits, hence are the symbol of longevity and eternity. Knots act as good-luck charms. In Feng Shui believe, 'endless knots' symbolised a long life without setbacks. The knot are mostly in red, yellow, brown colors & tie together with an amount of strings.

The light source inside the lantern represent the hope in future. Strips covering the light are like people working together hand by hand to work on supporting each other over challenges in daily life. Their shadow formed are bigger then the actual lantern size represent the power of unity forms a better community then one's.
CHINESE LANTERN The pattern on Dang Long are mostly paintings or Tulle Embroidery of nature creature such as birds, flowers, brushes, bamboos, fishes, chicks. These patterns show out the joyful of nature which could brings good luck to people also. As Chinese believe all things from nature have spirituality. The patterns mostly are in green, pink, red, blue and yellow colors which means for bless and good luck in Chinese also.
Dang Longs are mostly in linear form from up to down. The body consists of oval, circle elements from the covering and line elements from the strips holding the body's shape. The Chinese knots are also in linear form with lines from strips hanging and sometimes with symmetry pattern to tie up the strips.
