WAT DOI NGAM MUANG Wat Ngam Muang or Wat Doi Ngam Muang It is an important historical temple in Chiang Rai Province,formerly known as Wat Ngam Muang. Located on Doi Ngam Muang Later it became an abandoned temple during the Chiang Rai revival period.Wat Doi Ngam Muang is located on the hill behind the Wat Phra Kaew on top of which stands the Phra That Doi Jom Thong. The viharn’s facade and entrance door are beautifully decorated with intricate wood carvings depicting Lanna style motifs and Thewada figures (a kind of celestial beings). Inside the viharn facing the entrance sits a large Buddha image in the subduing Mara posture on a pedestal surrounded by smaller images. The large pillars are decorated with flower motifs. The stairs to the viharn’s entrance contain Nagas, whose bodies stretchup to the top of the stairs and then both ways across the balustrade of the portico.

King Mengrai founded Chiang Rai in 1262 to be the new capital of the Lanna Kingdom. It remained the capital city for 30 years until Chiang Mai was founded and made the new capital. The oldest structure of the temple is the chedi or stupa. The Phra Chedi named Ku Phra Chao Mengrai was built after the death of King Mengrai, the founder of the Lanna Kingdom and the city of Chiang Rai. The Phra Chedi was built to enshrine the ashes of the King, who died in 1317. The stone Chedi is set on a square stone base and contains niches on all four sides in which Buddha images are placed.

Wat Klang Wiang or Wat Chan Lok (Kham Muang: Wat Chan Ta Lok) is a temple and archaeological site in Chiang Rai Province. Is the place where the original navel of Chiang Rai city is enshrined (City Pillar), built around 1975, located on Uttarakit Road, Wiang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai It was called Wat Chan Ta Lok (Wat Chan Lok) from the large Chan Daeng tree in the temple. WAT PHRATHAT DOI TUNG Wat Phra That Doi Tung, or Wat Phra Maha Chin That Chao, is a temple located in Mae Sai County, Chiang Rai. It was probably built in the period of King Achutharat of Yonoknakphan. It is famous for having LordBuddha’s collarbone relics, which was transported directly from India. The legend says, about 1,000 years ago, Mahākāśyapa and King Achutharat of Yonoknakphan, along with his servants, were the people who brough the relics to the place.
WAT PHRATHAT DOI TUNG Beside of the two chedis, there are other interesting things around the temple too. Starting from the entrance, you will see a white statue of Kruba Sri Wichai. If you are about to walk up to the temple, you should see two Naga statues along the stairway. Or, you can also get into the glorious ubosot to pay respect to the principle Lord Buddha statue. On top of that, there is a walking way surrounded with high green trees. If you walk along the walking way for about 200 metres, you should find a pavillion. And, if you continue further, you will find a sightseeing spot, which you can look around and see all stunning natural scenery.
WAT PHRA KEAW Wat Phra Kaew is a third-common-class royal temple situated in the area of 10,640 square metres on Trairat road, Wiang sub-district, Muang Chiang Rai in Chiang Rai City, Thailand. The King of Thailand upgraded the temple to the royal temple on May 31, 1978. The temple gains historical importance as the place where the Emerald Buddha was found. It is also one of the main centres of Buddhist education and the Sangha's administration in northern Thailand.
