A tribute to special people grew up in Zululand, and anyone who is a true Zululander will have a wonderful appreciation for local support. I have met so many amazing people over the years and each and every one has supported me, so my ‘thank you’ to you all will never be sufficient enough. I would like to express my gratitude to a few special ones: • To my hus-

band Peter and son Warren who have always been so patient and wait up for me every night. • To my beloved mother Dawn, who helps me in so many ways too many things to mention. • To my siblings - my sister Pauline for always taking beautiful photos of my creations, and my brother Stan for his unending love and support. Since I could never mention every person who means so much to me and who always encourages me, I would like to thank the entire community, my amazing staff and very special friends.

Winning Zululand supports local charity
Giving back to the community t their RASA Award celebration function, the staff and management of Nam Jai House invited Reg Anthony - founder of Dice (Do I Care Enough?) to accept a generous donation of R28 000. The money was raised throughout the evening as diners, who each donated a small sum to Dice in exchange for the sumptuous meal - took part in fun auctions. ‘It is a true reflection of the society in which we live that businesses think of those less fortunate when they plan the celebrations of their

own success,’ said Mrs Anthony. ‘The funds raised this evening will change the lives of those less fortunate souls who have little to look forward to at this time of the year, when family and fellowship are paramount.’ Annemarie Benecke, owner of Nam Jai, said she felt compelled to support the organisation. ‘Dice plays an important part in our community, and we are also proud to have won the Dice Chef Competition twice, so we feel a definite kinship with this wonderful charity,’ she said.
I thank the Lord for giving me this talent, strength and the wisdom for bringing special people into my life, and for blessing me so abundantly Annemarie Benecke, owner of Nam Jai House Annemarie Benecke with her coveted RASA (Restaurant Association of SA) Rosetta Service Award for International/Alternative/Experiential Restaurant
