As a container house has a limited area and space, it is good for us to handle while it is a work for a junior architectural design student.
A town planning designed by 20 units of container houses. The town may also solve the ploblems of traffic & pedestrian flow, noise, wind, sunlight and parking radius.

card board chair In this assignment, it is needed to know the speciality of card board. Especially need to solve the structural and ergonomic problem. As we set the chair is placed in the coffee shop, we try to use the texture of coffee to be the concept of the chair. Texture of coffee is smooth, then we sketch with easy smooth lines to present it.

Studio & Residence for an artist To design a studio and resident building for an artist.
Jun Takahashi, a world known Japanese fashion designer of UNDERCOVER. Most of his design style is around DARK. Moreover, he try to use different media to do his design works, e.g. dolls, sculpture, movie, photography, etc.

Design Concept of Studio A fter studying Jun Takahashi’s design works and his working place, I had found that would like to work in a DARK and MYSTERIOUS space. So I try to start to design the mood of space. And develop to the form and final scheme.

This building’s location is nearby the STUDIO which designed for the artist. So the design of the hall may need to match with the studio. So I try to design the hall which combine by 8 zone. I belief that, a good hall of resident may also need to enhance student’s
interaction rather than just like a hotel.

In a big scale of hall may need to have a main core to group them together. The main core can have lots of activities or exhibition, so students may not only stay at their room.
The corridors are highlighted by SKY LIGHT, those areas may attract people to STAY there, thus, it could enhance the interaction between each student.
As it is the best way to let all bed room face to the sea view, it may provide the best environment for users.

HISTORY
The Hong Kong Section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway was inaugurated on 1 October 1910s. However, construction of a terminus in Tsim Sha Tsui did not begin until 1913s. As part of the complex, the Clock Tower was erected in 1915s, and the whole terminus commenced operation on 28 March 1916s. Because of World War I, the British materials required for the construction could not be shipped on time, and construction was halted for some time. In 1975, Kowloon Station was moved to the present-day Hung Hom Station on the newly reclaimed Hung Hom Bay. The building of the station was
demolished in 1977s despite the protest and
petitioning from the Heritage Society and other pressure groups. However, as a compromise it was decided that the
Clock Tower was to be preserved. The bell inside the Clock Tower is
currently in the railway depot in Ho Tung Lau .
STYLE Built with red bricks and granitr in Edwardian Classical Revival style, the Clock Tower is 44 metres high surmounted by a 7 metres lightning rod. The upper part of the tower is an octagonal domed turret built of red brickwork which contrasts with white painted classical features of scrolled- shaped buttresses, column and cornices.
The top of the tower can be reached by a wooden staircase located within. The clock tower is located near Victoria Harbour at the foot of Salisbury Road. Another landmark, the Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier ,is located nearby. The tower has been listed as a declared monument in Hong Kong since 1990s.
Dierent features contain in the
building show the elements of the Neo-Classical style. Doric Entasis Column and window arc are belongs to Greek and Ancient Roman. Red Brick represent to the Victoria’s period style.

As every mini-meter is extremely expensive in Hong Kong, this design work is to design a high rise resident building which the Gross Floor Area need to fully use up to 99.9%. Also, it is needed to prepare requirements of Building Authority of Hong Kong.

Opposite the site, there is a historical building. So our design may also use curve element to match with the heritage.

School for gifted student Gifted children are usually, but not always, high achievers. Even when they don't achieve good grades, they tend to score high on achievement tests, most often in the - percentile range. They love to learn and their love of learning, good memories, and ability to learn quickly and easily enable them to succeed. However, if a gifted child has lost the motivation to learn, he or she may not do well in school, although achievement test scores will usually remain high.
CONCEPT A primary school provides an environment to nourish our junior students. We believed that these primary school students are as fragile as a young sprout. In this project, we incorporated the essential and vital elements required for a sprout to growth healthy by PHOTOSYNTHESIS, which included sunlight, air and water. Our objective was to establish an energetic and supportive environment for children to receive education and consolidate their comprehensive development.
Site Analysis
Moreover, in the light of the appearance of a leaf, we incorporated the characteristic of it to the physical structure of the school. We believed it can create a refreshing and harmonious atmosphere for learning.

Air By the organization of the plan, it provided a great natural ventilation, which can also save energy and become more environmental friendly. As sunlight is the main source of heat, so there are shading fins in corridors, classrooms and hall which use for reflecting the sunlight into the building. Moreover, the fins can also prevent glare for sunlight which may have hurt students’ eye. And all shading fins are designed after the sun path and angle, so it could be provide the best temperature in different season, as the sun angle may change in summer and winter .

Pedestrian flow should be suitable to represent water moving in the veins of the leaf. After study the time table and the program of gifted student, data had shown they may have a fixed lesson in the morning, however, student may do individual or group project in the afternoon. So this building provide more space in the corridors which let student to group and learn together, thus, it may also increase their communication skills. Furthermore, they could find their answers in different rooms and share to everyone, just like plants may transfer water and nutrition from veins to cells.

Facade Design in Xiao Xing of CH I NA In 2011, I had an opportunity to design a live project which was designing a faรงade for one of the project of my father in Xiao Xing of China. I have learnt a great deal in terms of compromising the budget and materials. That was a precious experience through a very programmatic approach.
The first design of the facade. However, clients did not accept this design due to the budget problem.
This is the final design of the facade. As the surrounding buildings are mainly made by red bricks, so I try to use different colour stripes to let the building match with others, which could shows old and new mix together.
The building is still under construction stage. And the construction will be completed in October of 2012.
